Subway Runner Revised is designed to connect almost any interior unit close to the subway network to incorporate the exploratory sensibility of FO3. The mod deviates from the original subway runner network and creates interiors that match the innovation.

In a nutshell, this mod does, change pre-war lighting, change pre-war objects (paper, trash cans, etc.), disable fog, add pitch black image spaces, unify subway doors, add missing and unified music track references, rename subway stations, change and add map markers, copy vanilla stations with enhanced interiors to circumvent run-through/run-through issues, overhaul stations, compacts base mod tunnel length, etc.

Note: The original Subway Runner is not required. Subway Runner Revised is independent!

NOTE: This mod is under active development. Please do a hard save before upgrading to a new version!

[Introduction]

This is a revised version of Ghostfc3s' Subway Runner.

Maybe one day I'll find some other world creators who are interested in helping me add variety to the multipurpose tunnel section, and if I find someone interested in helping me do that I'd be interested in trying to resurrect this mod.

– Ghost FC3s

So be it. I follow ghostfc3s for help and support on this project. Because he encountered a major problem during the development process:

I've had some people contact me asking what I'm working on and updates and so on. The overall problem is that during development something happened to this esp and it no longer saved any changes. This happens in Xedit and CK. At the end of development, ESP takes 30-45 minutes to be saved in CK.

This means small bug fixes such as changing combination orientation or double doors cannot be saved and fixed. In order to continue working, I need to put all the cells I made into the new ESP, and there's no guarantee that will fix the problem.

– Ghost FC3s

I managed to restore the original files and patched them for the current DLC, so the cell data for PreVis etc. has been copied and fixed. Removed navmesh data not directly bound to door related cells. After saving via CK, the file should work fine again. For reasons that are unclear to me, I removed various unnecessary references to the original. And disabled some Subway Runner specific references that were also not needed, such as setting them to "Initially Disabled". Then resaved and it actually worked. If I had to guess, it has to do with some corrupted navmesh data that can't be easily tracked via CK or FO4Edit.

[Change to Subway Runner and/or Vanilla]

NOTE: The revised version changes almost all of the original subway runner interior and adds new tunnels and stations from the original version.

PreCombine

Various gates changed to address PreCombine issues. Therefore, not all entry points are equal to the original version. PreCombined references in outer cells have been removed via FO4Edit. The original data will no longer interfere. Hand-operated doors, subway stations, etc. were moved to appropriate locations.

Entrance

Automatic doors have been replaced by regular utility doors. Automatic doors work based on distance from objects, meaning the player char will enter a specific cell when they are close to that cell. Two examples are Copley Station and Valenti Station. Both previously had automatic loading doors.

The C.I.T. station was disabled a …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
