Updated on October 4th:

Version 1.5

The main mod files have been combined into a single FOMOD installer. It contains all supported game versions, as well as optional patches that you can choose if you want.

Improved the behavior of charged weapons such as the Gauss Rifle. This improves compatibility and the charging animation now works correctly.

To avoid wasting critical hits, critical hits are skipped when there are no targets or the target is dead. This means it is now possible to hold down the crit key/button without expending a critical hit.

Melee attacks now include teleporting to the target a short distance when the target enters VATS attack range.

Fixed an issue that could cause camera controls to remain locked after exiting VATS.

Fixed an issue where shots would not hit grenades or mines while performing a critical hit.

Scripts have been adjusted, mainly to improve responsiveness and ensure the process is reliable and not missed.

  • ESP changes: Two attributes have been removed from "FE000800: F76V_Quest". An effect has been removed in "FE000811: F76V_SPEL_InVATS_Perks". The related forms FE000814, FE000817 and FE000819 have been removed.

Version 1.4

The interface handling has also been significantly reworked. This should improve compatibility with interface/HUD mods.

Custom colors can now be configured for selected body part highlights and part information.

  • By default, colors are set to look like Fallout 76. You can also set them to match UI/HUD colors, just like the original.
  • Edit "Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\f76_vats_project.ini" to configure these settings.

The HP of body parts is now normal.

The full notification tones for key instruments no longer play unnecessarily when entering VATS.

There are a few other small tweaks.

  • The only change to ESP is to remove one attribute from the "F76V_Quest_InVATS" table.

Updated on September 12th:

Version 1.3

The Spacebar/Y key is now assigned to critical hits by default. Sorry for confusing you.

  • If you want to enable jumping in VATS, you can configure it in "Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\f76_vats_project.ini". You can still trigger critical hits with the activation key/button.

Fixed a problem that may occur in some settings: after the first kill, the hit probability of subsequent targets is no longer displayed, and the attack cannot hit.

  • This solved the problem, at least in my game. If this is still happening in your setup, please report it.

VATS now automatically exits when opening the pause menu to help prevent potential issues.

  • This update only contains DLL and script changes. ESP has not been updated yet.

Updated on September 5th:

Version 1.2

VATS can now be activated while jumping or in the air.

  • Critical hits can be triggered by activation keys/buttons. The jump key/button can also be controlled as a key by editing "Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\f76_vats_project.ini".

Dismemberment now functions normally during VATS.

Fixed a potential issue where slam attacks could be launched during VATS.

Fixed a gameplay issue where the reverb of certain weapons when NPCs fire could be too loud in VATS.

  • This update only contains DLL and script changes. ESP has not been updated yet.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
