About this mod Machine translation

Transfer Settlements is a mod that allows you to simply export your settlements into external data files called BLUEPRINTS, and also allows you to use it in any save file with any character to import these blueprints into the game. Similar to the Looksmenu or Bodyslide presets, this mod also opens up a new possibility to share these data files as a single settlement blueprint file on .com, where anyone can download and use this mod.

  • Install the latest version of F4SE!
  • Copy all files and folders from F4SE to your Fallout 4 installation directory! Transfer Settlements requires F4SE's Data folder, specifically Data/Scripts/F4SE.pex and Data/Scripts/ObjectReference.pex!
  • If you have any problems installing or using F4SE, please watch the FALLOUT 4 Script Extender (F4SE) - Gopher Tutorial
  • And don't forget to use f4se_loader.exe instead of Fallout4.exe to run the game!

We highly recommend using my tool: Fallout4.exe for automatic backup, as this mod needs to be updated with every new version of the game.

  • Install HUDFramework!
  • Install transfer settlement

Use a mod manager like Mod Manager.

After installing the mod you will receive a stock holotape named [Settings] Transfer Settlements, if you are using item sorting mode you will usually not find the holotape itself under the "Settings Holotapes" submenu with the [Settings] prefix. It is also available in the Chemistry Station in the Utility section. All features offered by this mod are available through this single holotape.

Or from v1.42 Optional Compatible Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) If you are using MCM, you should find Transfer Settlements General Settings from the pause menu under Mod Config. The settings are still available from holotape.

Export settlement

Load your holotape where you want the settlement to be exported, and choose to export this settlement to a blueprint.

On the next screen, select a blueprint slot from the list. These blueprint slots represent numbered folders in the blueprints folder, which is located in the Fallout 4 installation folder under Data\F4SE\Plugins\TransferSettlements\blueprints. So, for example, the data file for the blueprint in the first slot would look like Data\F4SE\Plugins\TransferSettlements\blueprints\1\bp_dante_abernathy_1702081950.json. So selecting the blueprint slot here will determine the blueprint folder you want to use for this settlement export. Please note that any blueprints that previously existed in the selected folder will be automatically overwritten, so if you want to export more settlements than the number of available blueprints, be sure to back up the blueprint files to another location.

Once you select one of these, you can fine-tune your export options.

  • Export original project (not built by player)

By enabling export of original projects, you export projects that are linked to the settlement workshop but were not built by the player. Take Shawn's Crib in Sanctuary Hills, for example.

This feature is useful if you have previously deleted these items and want them back in the game. But in most cases, you probably just want to export the projects you built.

  • Export DLC projects/Export mod-added projects

Turning off the export of DLC items or mod-added items means you don't want these types of items exported into Blueprints. These options are turned on by default as the import process handles missing DLC or mods flawlessly.

  • Export farm animals (dogs, cats, brahmins)

The option to export farm animals allows you to export dogs, cats, brahmins to your blueprints. Note that this will never output unique animals such as Maisie the Cat or Clarabell the brahmin at Abernathy Farm.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
