Updated Chinese address on June 29th:

The main file and the optional Adrenaline redo patch and Heather Castine patch have been uploaded. You can choose to install them according to your needs.

Updated to version 1.11 on August 19th

Updated on August 15th:

Version 1.1

Bug fix: Added sanity check in OnItemEquipmentn to first confirm whether the equipped item is a potion, and then check other conditions. Improve performance by reducing the number of items that need to be processed.

Bugfix: Fixed a race condition with timers and healing boolean caching that caused disease treatments to sometimes fail to take effect on mental states (the treatment would be processed later, causing the boolean to be toggled early when it shouldn't). Done

Bug Fix: Added in UFO4P's cannibal remediation patch, which was somehow excluded during development. However, all other UFO4P fixes are already in the hc_manager script. Done

Bug fix: Race condition should be fixed for timer used to set "sleep only boolean" to false. Use menu closing as an event start timer.

Trait Change: Removed Thistle from the Herb/Peace requirement in favor of the more common mutated fern. Thistles are too rare and often don't respawn properly on the map.

Functional changes: A new game-set damage difficulty multiplier has been added to the MCM, which clearly distinguishes which damage settings are talents and which are game settings.

New feature: A new setting has been added in scripts and MCM to set a minimum risk to contract the disease even if the resistance is negative. Note that negative resistance still increases your attack risk.

New feature: Two different optional ESPs have been added. One only disables the active effects UI display (on Pipboy and HUD) of active demand effects, the other disables all demand effects. Custom Pipboy tabs still exist and work normally.

Updated on May 25th:

Version 1.09

Bugfix: Fixed an issue with sleep potions being applied from racing state after game loads when sleep requirement is disabled in MCM.

Bug Fix: Fixed requirement and disease effects for potions to persist after player character sleeps.

Bugfix: Fixed all types of diseases that were caught and increased risk when the corresponding disease type was turned off in MCM.

Bug Fix: Fixed rage issue that could cause the game to freeze if triggered while crafting on the workbench (ExamineMenu and CookingMenu). Anger issues are triggered after the menu is closed.

It's been 10+ years and no one has overhauled Survival Mode. Let's fix this, shall we?

Welcome to the survival mode overhaul. The mod aims to change and reshape much of Bethesda's original survival mode while adding more practical features, such as interface display changes.

Prefix

Mandatory requirements:

F4SE (mandatory: original version is 0.6.23, NG is 0.7.2, AE is the latest version)

Optional requirements:

PipboyTabs: OG (), NG (), AE (Neanka's Discord - Beta File Channel) Mod

Configuration menu: OG, NG, AE

Without PipboyTabs, you won't be able to see custom tabs for needs and diseases. However, you can still see all the effects in Active Effects, so it's completely playable.

if you can,

I highly recommend using PipboyTabs. If the AE version is broken due to a game update: you can use Simple Downgrader, install the original plugin for F4SE, and optionally use RootBuilder to switch between AE and OG, like purchasing Creations.

Install

You have three options:

  • You can load a save without survival mode enabled, install the mod and load the save. Then change the difficulty to survival difficulty.
  • You can start a new game with survival mode difficulty. This mod can be installed before starting a new game.
  • If your save is already in survival mode, please do not install this mod yet. Install and use unlimited survival mode, and turn off survival mode. You can then install th …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
