Version 1.2.8

  • Fix the problem of independent aiming function failure caused by the last update.
  • Fixed the problem that the auxiliary aiming function fails when using weapons that require continuous attack, such as rotating machine guns.

Updated on September 4th:

Version 1.2.5

Three new input modes have been added: keyboard and mouse only, controller only, and keyboard and mouse + controller automatic recognition.

Added optional continuous crosshair tracking

Added "quickly switch anchor points" hotkey

Added Fallout 4 AE 1.11.240 support

Updated on July 31st:

Version 1.2.4

New: Automatically exit by default if no operation is performed. The default value is 0 seconds.

New: Whether independent locking is affected by no-operation exit can be set independently.

By default, independent locking does not automatically end due to inactivity.

New experimental feature: allows targeting hostile targets that are not yet in combat.

Keyboard and mouse mode no longer uses the middle mouse button as the lock button by default.

Please set the keyboard and mouse lock button yourself in MCM, and the middle mouse button will restore the original camera switching function.

The lock function of the right rocker of the controller remains unchanged.

Major updates

Ordinary auxiliary aiming: long-range takes effect in the actual aiming state, melee takes effect in the actual blocking state. Read game status instead of key presses, and can be used with Toggle Aim class modules.

Independent Locking: Off by default. Short press the right joystick of the controller to lock or cancel, long press to retain the original stealth; the keyboard and mouse use the middle mouse button by default, and the keys can also be changed in the MCM.

Continuous follow: After successful independent locking, there is no need to keep aiming or blocking. The reticle of ranged weapons will continue to follow the target, and the reticle of melee weapons will continue to face the target.

Automatic end: After the target dies, becomes invalid, leaves the range, or continues to lose sight, it will only be searched again once; if a replacement target cannot be found, the lock will end.

Melee and long-range identification: The two types of weapons use independent locking distances; melee is not restricted by the minimum distance of firearms, and the relevant distance can be adjusted in the MCM.

Locking parts and high magnification: You can select the body, head or lower body as the anchor point; automatically fall back to the body when the corresponding bone node is missing. The high magnification limit can be turned off in MCM.

Native Target Markers: Offers six overhead markers that scale with distance and always bind to the target's head. The original Fallout 4 "Menace Skull" is the default.

Feel settings: You can manually move the crosshair when locked; after stopping input, the crosshair will return to the anchor point according to the selected waiting time. The adsorption strength, range, target switching strength and automatic release time can be adjusted.

Things to note

Normal assisted aiming and independent locking are not mutually exclusive modes; after enabling independent locking, normal aiming and blocking can still trigger normal assisting.

When independent locking is off, pressing the right stick maintains vanilla stealth operation.

Known issues (Steam Deck): From the third-person perspective, slight lag may occur when locking the target during movement. There is currently no reliable further optimization solution, please understand.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
