Updated on November 12th:

Version 1.3

  • Minor repairs to Jamasia Plains. The building behind where the workbench used to be now has a door that gives you access to the workshop, for those of you who have had issues with the game you've played or it not spawning in the correct location properly
  • Built a door to the castle and added a holotape to the general's desk for the Old Gun quest

Complete quest fix provided - Bunker Hill Shack is now free to use and no longer requires a key

  • I removed the barn key in Somerville Place, you no longer need to complete the quest
  • Chemistry kits in Starlight now work with workshops

Related - Added generators to most settlements

  • Changed picnic tables at Finch Farm for better paths
  • Added a debug menu to the holotape for the Old Guns mission and Out of Time, which should help resolve any issues. They have been tested and work on my save
  • I've run the mod through FO4Edit to clean up the mod.

I added Quest to solve the keys and obstacles people were having problems with. Just enter the location, check your beeps, and if it doesn't pop up automatically, there should be a task.

Fallout 4 Settlement Reborn

[Requires new game + all DLC]

[Fallout 4 Settlement Reborn]

The emptiness of Commonwealth settlements must not continue. In Fallout 4: Settlement Reborn, that void has been filled, showcasing the harshness of life in a world 200 years in the future. There are multiple versions, so choose the one you like.

FRS4 Legend Version: If a settlement has no settlers by default, such as a refuge, then it will look abandoned as if someone once lived there, but no longer. If you wish, you can recruit new settlers and build more to make it more like their home, or leave it as is and continue your journey. For settlements that have people living in them, houses now look more inhabited without being overly populated.

F4SR Sanctuary Minutemen Overhaul: This is for those who don't really care if the legend is broken. Sanctuary will now be ready for people like the Preston team, even if you've never met them. This is what Sanctuary was originally supposed to be, but I know people like to play a lore-friendly game, so there's a lore version for them. There will be changes in this version, but not a lot, mainly the Sanctuary will get more fixes and have shops and vendors there, a militia town hall, a guardhouse, and new lore as to why this is the case. This is what the Sanctuary town looked like after Preston and his team got there, but it wouldn't make sense if you left the Sanctuary and walked down to see it, so I made the legendary version. Initially most of the settlements were supposed to be more empty, but I ended up making the legend version a full version without shelters, so I decided to give the shelters an overhaul.

F4SR Complete Overhaul: This is the complete version, but to all my preferences it will include Creation Club content and more changes to suit my gameplay. This is an option for anyone who wants to see what I'm getting into and see what I want from my initial experience of Fallout 4 Settlements Reborn. It will include Creation Club content and some of my other mods that haven't been released yet.

[Settlement requirements]

All settlements will have a unique box called "All Settlement Requirements" that will automatically repair and maintain 100% happiness if it is somehow destroyed in a settlement attack. The box will provide 10 beds, 25 food, 100 happiness, 100 str …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
