Settlement Mechanics Redux fine-tunes settlement mechanics

I've been staring at the abomination I created for a while and never touched it again after the first update... Elysios' settlement mechanic with more plants is what I'm talking about... Frankly, it's a thorn in my side and I've never improved on it. This is a one-off for me and needs updating. Part of it is good, part of it is bad, and too much of it is super cheaty. This is my new taste, my real taste. Not all of these changes you may appreciate, but I tried to bring back the fun of managing reconciliations without making them into Fallout missions. Some of them are harder, some of them are easier... most of them are more realistic, hope you will like it. Please provide your feedback and let me know about any issues you encounter. I'd also love to hear what benefits you think there would be.

Currently, this release won't touch any DLC items, but that will definitely change. I've included both the ESP version and the ESL version for your convenience, and will always keep the Vanilla version for those who still don't have all the DLC. Below is a list of changes.

Turrets that previously required power cables now use passive power. Tilt a turret down near your turret and they'll start with lethal effect and minimal eye soreness.

  • All passive power nodes (switches, racks, connectors, etc.) now have a 50% increased radius.
  • The generator output is slightly changed to be more realistic compared to the actual value and my personal taste. The power output of small (3>4), medium (5>6) and windmill (3>5) generators has been changed. The large generator has not changed.
  • Water purifier slightly edited for realism. Small purifiers now require 5 power sources but provide 10 water. Large purifiers still require 10 power, but only provide 20 water.
  • Added blood leaf, flower arrangement and silt bean recipes as food sources.

Below is a list of my current work.

  • Add missing plants and all wild plants to the recipe list using the appropriate menu icon.
  • Re-evaluate the safety output of turrets and guardrails compared to balance and authenticity while maintaining similar functionality.
  • Re-evaluate the food production of your plants compared to their size and type.

For now, this version does not touch any DLC items, but that will definitely change. For your convenience, I have included both an ESP version and an ESL version and will always maintain a Vanilla edition for those who still don't have all the DLC. Below is a list of the changes.

  • Turrets that previously required power cables now use passive power. Plop a pylon down near your turrets and they'll start right up with deadly effect and minimal eye-sore.
  • All passive power nodes (switches, pylons, connectors, etc.) now have an increased radius by 50%.
  • Generator output has been changed slightly to be more realistic in comparison with actual values and my own personal taste. Power output changed for small(3>4), medium(5>6), and windmill(3>5) generators. Large generator has not changed.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
