R91 Expansion
Wow, my first public mod sent to Hot Files. Thank you all!
This mod adds more attachments and various enhancements to the FO3 R91 assault rifle. New attachments include 5 new barrels, 6 new stocks, 1 new optic (many new variations on the original), material/skin slots with some options, and 2 new unique variants. Iron sights fixed to be more useful. A new semi-knowledgeable/semi-actual naming system has been added.
There are now two options: Combat Rifle replacer and Non-Replacer. In the battle rifle version, it will directly replace the battle rifle and appear in all the same places/at the same level. It uses vanilla CR and hunting rifle firing sounds, so you can use any sound replacer you like. Due to scripted LL injection in the original mod, if you install this version on an existing save, you will find a replacement CR version (fully functional) and an older version (not updated). It works very well in new games, and it does the same here. If anyone knows how to reset LL please let me know in the comments and I'll try to implement it if by the end of my time.
The non-replacer will work fine in any game state, existing or new (99% sure, without any extensive testing). Acts as an extension to the original mod.
No duplication - I have uniques set up to use legendary mods with unique visual effects, such as the Sacrificial Blade for Scimitars or the Unique Uniques mod (highly recommended). They are placed in positions and effects that fit the theme of the weapon.
new
Puncher - (from FO3) After collecting this weapon from Pitt, the Lone Wanderer decided to give it to a small community living in a cave. Being a kind and considerate person, they thought its compact and quiet nature would be useful for the children there. The community's mayor traveled to Boston after being exiled, rumored to be staying on the Third Railroad.
Wanda - (via FO3) An armed man at the National Guard training range was particularly fond of modifying his weapon, but unfortunately never used it due to the whole nuclear war thing. (This is from FO3, but the name always reminds me of how soldiers name their weapons/vehicles. See the technical section for details and customization of its unique effects.)
replacement version
Overseer's Guardian - Normal position. However, Alexis Combes no longer sells it because according to her "only carry firearms safely." (hint hint)
Children in December - normal position.
The assets used in this mod are from other sources and are listed in the credits because I make things from scratch. I did modify everything I used to fit the mod. I waited months to get permission and some people never responded. If the original author wanted me to do that, I'd have no problem with that.
Requirements
Replacement - Requires original R91 mod, Nuka World and Far Harbor. Base Mode already requires NW; for those who don't have Far Harbor, there is a way (detailed below in the technical section) to remove this dependency (it's only meant to replace December's Child, you can still get this uniqueness without FH using the console).
Non-replacer - Requires original R91 mod and Nuka World. Same requirements as the original.
Install
Install the original mod, then install this mod, overwriting the original files. Use this esp instead of the original; you can delete the old one if you wish. Select only one version.
conflict
Replacers will conflict with any mod that changes combat rifle weapon records. Other than that, conflict with anything else should be minimal. I made a small edit to the leveled list used to spawn named weapons, but with few other mods touching those it should be fine. FO4Edit is truly an amazing tool for conflict resolution, if you have one.
Recommended Mods
Realistic Weapon Sounds - I use this, a custom mix of Commonwealth Warfare and Towbie's realistic weapon sounds. Most sounds (including CR and HR used here) come from RWS.

I don't have enough time to maintain a bunch of alt …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
