Quick Workshop is an F4SE plugin that optimizes workshop loading times by replacing some of the most expensive and least efficient areas of the workshop loading code with more efficient versions.
Among other things, it does two things:
Hot keys are provided to instantly enter the construction workshop mode.
Fixed an issue where the Workshop icon would not load when quickly viewing it.
Testers who currently have a Build Workshop load time of ~15 seconds (from activating the Workshop to the build menu appearing) reported that the load time dropped to less than half a second. Those with low boot load times report that the workshop with the plugin installed loads almost instantaneously.
about
As you get more mods that add content to the game, you may have noticed that when you try to launch Creative Mode, the game freezes for longer and longer (the video freezes and you can't move). Even though these mods have nothing to do with the Workshop!
*What's going on? *
What it boils down to is the game using some very inefficient code to figure out what objects you can build in workshop mode. Whenever you activate Workshop mode, the game evaluates the conditions of every buildable object in the game to determine if they belong in the Workshop - this even includes non-Workshop items like weapon mods and chemicals. Not only does it do this once(!), but it repeats this cycle for every workshop submenu you have!
If you install a mod that adds two new submenus to your studio, you can reasonably expect only a small overhead of some extra checks. Instead, in reality, this would cause every craftable object in the game to be recycled twice.
As you install more mods that add any type of craftable item to the game, even if they have nothing to do with the Workshop, access to the Workshop will inevitably slow down significantly.
To make matters worse, every time you leave the studio, the game will tear down all the data it worked so hard to build and start over!
Do I need this mod?
When you start Creative Turner mode, is there any noticeable delay before the build menu appears? If so, this mod can help.
If you are currently not experiencing any lag when launching Creative Mode, congratulations! You have a powerful enough rig, or you don't have many (workshop) mods installed. But keep this mod in mind in case you need it in the future. The rate at which load times increase is not linear with the number of mods you install - it's much worse, so if you install certain types of mods you may see load times increase rapidly. (See the "About" section for details)
Working Principle (Technology)
This F4SE plugin rewrites the code that handles the loading of workshop objects. On the first workshop load of a game session, the plug-in iterates through the constructibles once and maps keywords to their constructibles. Now, instead of looping through the entire list of COBJs every time you need to map a COBJ to a KWYD, finding this information from a pre-built map is a constant time operation. Now, only COBJs belonging to the workshop category will be conditionally evaluated instead of all loaded COBJs.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
