Introduction:
Never worry about pre-merged and pre-visualized data corruption again.
Fallout 4's pre-merge and preview systems have a major impact on game performance. If they are disabled, framerates will drop significantly, especially in cities and densely built settlements.
Pre-merge and pre-visualization guardians automatically protect these systems.
Instead of fixing broken optimization data afterwards, Guardians prevented Fallout 4 from disabling effective pre-merge and preview data.
Install the mods you like and don't worry about hidden performance-breakers.
No more hunting for that plug-in that accidentally broke the entire unit.
Keeping Fallout 4's optimizations automatically intact.
Mods that correctly provide reconstructed pre-merged and pre-visualized data will still work exactly as expected. New buildings, world edits, and additional objects are unaffected.
Guardians only step in when Fallout 4 is ready to disable optimizations, as plugins would otherwise break the pre-merge or preview system.
Why use this module?
✔ Protect the built-in optimization system of "Fallout 4"
✔ Prevent unexpected pre-merge and preview interruptions
✔ Helps maintain stable performance of load order
✔ No configuration required
✔Lightweight native F4SE plug-in
compatibility
Pre-Merge Pre-Merge and Preview Guardian are fully compatible with mods that correctly generate their own pre-merge and preview data.
It can also be used with Previsibines Repair Packs (PRP).
PRP focuses on rebuilding optimized data and providing compatibility patches. The Guardian focuses on preventing Fallout 4 from disabling effective optimization data in the first place.
Use one of these mods alone, or combine them for maximum compatibility and protection.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Mods that intentionally disable pre-merge and pre-visualization to scrap or modify entire cells without regenerating optimized data are incompatible by design.
These mods rely on Fallout 4's disabling optimization system, which is what Guardians prevent.
Disabling pre-combine and preview has been one of the biggest causes of unnecessary performance loss in F All 4.
For complete renovation and demolition of settlements, it is highly recommended to use mods that retain or regenerate the correct pre-merge and pre-vision data.
Cell exclusion
To exclude specific cells from Guardian protection, create a ".ini" file in "F4SE\Plugins\PrecombineAndPrevisGuardian\" and add: Use cell editor IDs, separated by commas. You can create multiple .ini files; all exclusions are merged. Matching is not case sensitive.
log
Guardian includes two optional logging modes to help identify problematic plugins or diagnose compatibility issues.
Problem Log
Only record actual problems that were detected and prevented. This is a mode recommended for mod creators or users who want to view specific cells to see problems.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
