describe

The major revision of NPC growth is the original + reworked version based on the enemy progression system of "Fallout 4".

The goal is not to make global play more difficult, but to improve continuity, factions, gear progression, and encounter variety while retaining the original Fallout 4 experience.

This package contains multiple files, such as:

shooter

Synth

super mutant

encounter area

These can be unloaded or loaded individually.

Design concept

The NPC growth overhaul is based on a simple principle:

Enemies should get stronger in a logical way.

In the original Fallout 4, high-level enemies sometimes had weaker equipment than lower-level enemies, which I found unreasonable.

Fighting a Gunner Brigadier should be different than fighting a Gunner Major.

Low-level, mid-level and high-level entities should have distinctions in their combat identities.

The NPC scaling overhaul corrects these issues in the following ways:

Redesigned weapon progression system.

Redesigned armor progression system.

Reimagined Epic Chance loot distribution.

Increase level level. See also: Spoilers and below

Create recognizable combat characters.

Maintaining each faction's original identity.

No "non-background setting" equipment has been added.

You can't kill enemies without those attributes or armor.

There are no redesigned enemies. I also kept the "dynamic scaling" idea from the first mod, creating a series of multiplicative scaling of levels.

For example:

The minimum level to encounter the Gunner Sergeant is level 30, and the multiplier for player level is 0.8.

Therefore, when the player reaches level 30, you will encounter the level 30 gunnery sergeant. When the player reaches level 50, you will encounter the level 40 gunnery sergeant. At level 100, the gunnery sergeant level is 80. This applies to shooters at all ranges.

Low and mid-level shooter levels will be surpassed by players (with different ranges).

High and Elite levels always outrank the player (with different ranges).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
