No Human Door Opening Animation file updated on November 18th:
Removed NPC door opening animation to allow them to pass faster. A loose file is needed to overlay the character animation mod.
Updated on October 5, 2024:
Version 4.0
Complete remake again
Instead of reducing the frequency of the animation to 0.01 (which made them stay open sometimes), it was changed to 999, which made some doors twitch, but it kept the sound and they closed correctly
Version 3.0
complete remake
Known Issue: Sometimes doors will freeze in the open state, this is purely cosmetic and cannot really be fixed without affecting the functionality of the door immediately after being used by the NPC
The goal with this remake is to maintain consistency, and instead of removing animations for certain doors while reducing the "stop time" of others, we will reduce the animation stop time of all doors to 0.01
This should preserve the on/off sound effects and a bit of animation
Version 2.7
Added Diamond City Radio door and several other RV doors
Version 2.6
Added hatch to Hardware Town basement
Version 2.5
Several more doors added to the town of Nuka, USA
Version 2.4
Fixed an issue with some doors not having opening/closing sounds
Inspired by Get On With It - a skyrim module that opens the door without waiting,
and "Not Animated" by CrySpearxvi,
This mod removes the opening/closing animation of doors that appear on the loading screen so that you (and NPCs) go through them immediately.
The original Fallout 4 had a persistent problem where if an NPC used a door before you, you had to wait too long before you could use it yourself due to the opening/closing animation. Although generally speaking, NPCs usually take a long time to pass the gate period. Especially if there are multiple NPCs who start queuing up to use a door. This can be very annoying.
I (original author Bunslinger, the same below) also deleted the animation of the NPC opening the door, because it would make things take longer.
Every "loading screen" door should be affected by the override, including any new doors added by DLC. No DLC is required as a prerequisite.
Special thanks to KingXerxes for bringing the existence of Get On With It to my attention, which ultimately led to the creation of this mod.
enjoy!
The packaged component version and the integrated version are uploaded together, and you can choose one of the two to install according to your personal habits.
Random Thoughts: It’s already the starry sky era, and Lazy Dog B has not been able to solve the problem of opening time and positioning. I can only say that the MOD community is really far ahead.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
