About this mod Machine translation
This mod adds a trash can as a new craftable, viable item to your settlement. When settlers are assigned to a bin, they will begin clearing random debris in a fairly large area around the bin (4096 units in diameter, the width of a game unit). This will also increase the happiness of the settlement.
The debris will be gradually sorted over the course of a few days (20-ish in most cases, but it depends on how dirty the area is). Even after everything is sorted, keeping one person assigned to it will continue to add fun to the reconciliation. Bins can also be moved to change the focus of settler work.
You can build a litter box from the Resources/Others section of the workshop menu (next to the cleanup station).
There is now a handy Pip-Boy app (holotape) that allows you to select the categories of items you wish to clear. The holotape should be automatically placed in the inventory, but can also be built at the chemistry workbench.
This mod requires bUseCombinedObjects=0 to be added to the [General] section of Fallout4Custom.ini in order for the mod to detect all types of garbage (this setting can also be added via the NMM installer).
Types of items that can be scrapped (I'm trying to save this into items that can't be scrapped manually):
Decorate
bacteria
Grass
Household items
leaves
rubble and garbage
shrub
rattan
I certainly haven't done an exhaustive search of all settlements yet, so please let me know if there's any junk you think should be sorted out, but doesn't seem to be located yet (keep in mind it'll probably take about 20 in-game days to clear everything around the dumpsters).
I'm also planning on adding corpses as they are very annoying (I could do that with another workshop project like a serious marker or something). And I might add a small amount of recovered resources every day while the bin is active.
Incompatibility
There shouldn't be any problems since all objects and scripts are new and existing game objects and cells will not be touched.
Known issues or bugs
This isn't a "problem", but be aware that the shards don't disappear when you're in a settlement. However, it will record how much should be removed each day so that when you leave and return, the right amount of trash will be gone, even if you stay in one place for several days.
The household items category doesn't contain a lot of stuff because I haven't decided if I should add larger items like a stove.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
