Updated to version 5.3 on April 9, 2023:
New 2023 "Version 5". I (original author LibertyBull, the same below) decided to do it right and remake FOMOD so that all previous options are back and all previous mistakes are suppressed. Each installer option has been redesigned to be independent and highly compatible with each other. Any mods that edit/override Militia NPCs, gear level lists, or laser gun level lists will conflict. The description will be updated later tonight with a list of links to the various modding options.
All-in-one installer to convert militia factions into NCR. (Or let them just get better gear)
Optional options for integrating the following modules during installation:
NCR Equipment Pack and/or NCR Patroller and Trooper Armor
(For Ranger and Trooper options, NCR or MM logos and choice between Mojave Tan, Minuteman Blue, Olive, Camouflage or Winter are available)
DeadPool Edition Military Rifle or Wasteland Melody Edition Military Rifle
(Equipable to all Militia/NCR soldiers, with Assault/Marksman Carbine option available to higher level soldiers.
NCR Ranger Veteran Armor or NCR Veteran Ranger - F4NV
(Or choose neither and use the Veteran Ranger armor that comes with the NCR Gear Pack.
Anti-matter rifle mod or creation club version
(will be used by veteran rangers)
FCOM, Wasteland Imports and Gunners Vs Minutemen CC Integration Options
(FCOM only for NCR options, Wasteland Import introduces NCR currency on 1st Recon Battalion Snipers and Rangers.
Change the following:
1300 voice files divided into 45 voices (including companions and radio stations) edited to NCR instead of Minutemen
Hundreds of subtitles, quest dialogue, game notes, and terminal entries say NCR instead of Militia Militia NPC renamed "NCR Trooper"
Laser rifles are service rifles and submachine guns
replace militia
and Preston Garvey's costume by NCR Armor
Replacement custom NCR general uniforms are available at the Citadel Armory
Militia flag found on General McGann retextured and renamed to NCR flag
Advanced Militia NPCs can spawn as Veteran Rangers or Power Armor Juggers with custom NCR PA textures
Added NCR dog tags to all militia
Known issues:
The 10 "disposable" voice lines spoken by the bot were not replaced. Voice AI cannot accurately replicate their robotic voices. These are the lines uttered by directors Coatsworth, Curie, Sage and White.
Any mods you own that add militia items will not be aff …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
