describe

Added an unused Brotherhood of Steel underwear cape, but the mesh has been adjusted, mainly to implement rather confusing cloth physics. I (original author CarbonWaffle, the same below) have been wondering why Bethesda has never made invisible items even though they use havoc cloth in the game. I wanted to see what it would look like if it were actually implemented. This is an experimental mod, made and tested on version 1.10.163 of the game. Number Five can be found in the west tower of the Reconnaissance Bunker, while the other Number Five is at the Boston Airport.

question

-Physical effects may go wrong when using furniture. (I've only encountered this once).

  • The simulation is always active, unlike the original costume which automatically turns off when using furniture and when off-screen. This is not intentional, but rather because my attempt to create a runnable "Animate" state in HCT failed. I feel like maybe it's not possible now, or I'm just too stupid.

-The cape is usually wrapped around the torso and head, so use reverse movements to untie yourself.

-The fabric is usually rough.

Prerequisites

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
