Fallout 4 Outfit Manager
A lightweight clothing preservation, restoration and random dressing system for players and NPCs.
The Outfit Manager can save complete outfits to an external JSON slot, which can then be quickly restored, switched and randomized via hotkeys or the in-game UI.
Version 1.2.4 adds multi-runtime compatibility, optimizes random logic, and makes the overall replacement process more stable and smooth.
Runtime compatible
This version is a multi-runtime compatible version.
Real machine tested:
Fallout 4 1.10.163 | Fallout 4 1.11.221
DLL configuration supports the following runtimes:
1.10.162 | 1.10.163 | 1.10.980 | 1.10.984
1.11.137 | 1.11.159 | 1.11.169 | 1.11.191 | 1.11.221
The intermediate version has theoretical support, but has not been fully tested on actual machines. Feedback is welcome.

Core Features
Focus on in-game UI
This module does not rely on MCM as the main operating interface.
MCM is mainly used to set hotkeys, and daily clothing management is done through the in-game UI.
This makes it more suitable for large modlists and avoids the hassle of opening MCM frequently.
Supports keyboard, mouse, gamepad and handheld console
The UI supports keyboard, mouse and gamepad operations.
The interface layout adapts from about 600p to 4K.
Suitable for desktop, Steam Deck and handheld gamers.
External JSON package data
Saved packages are saved as external JSON files.
This makes it easy to view, back up, migrate or share package data.
Save path:
F4SE/Plugins/OutfitManager/
Each suit slot uses a separate slotNNN.json file.
More reliable random logic
Random sets are filtered by target gender.
The random system uses a "random bag" mechanism.
In a random round, all eligible saved suits will be overwritten before moving on to the next round.
Random outfit changes are independent of the current edit slot in the UI.
In this way, when using random hotkeys, the current slot of the UI will not jump randomly.
More stable previous set/next set switching
The previous and next outfits will be calculated from the last actually worn outfit.
This makes the behavior when browsing through sets more predictable.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
