Overview
Adds configurable camera shake and VFX when you take damage, inspired by Modern Warfare.
|
Getting hit by an enemy can feel mundane, as it's easy to miss the rapidly flashing red on the screen, especially if you're using the Silent Protagonist mod.
|
Now, when you're attacked, your camera will briefly flash red, shake, and your vision will be slightly blurred. Combat now feels more intense and impactful.
|
This is better explained, watched and enjoyed in the video, so please enjoy this quick demonstration linked below.
Low health VFX are disabled in this Showcase.

|
(The guns used in this video are DegenerateDak’s riot shotgun and Alexerator’s military surplus pistol)

Specific content
MW Player Hit Sounds and Effects Redux is a cool mod, but has many out-of-scope issues and patches, such as editing each glowing creature's radiant cloak to reduce the radius.
|
This mod requires no patches, works with all DLC, and is optimized with perk hit detection and engine-level condition evaluation instead of Papyrus OnHit event detection and evaluation.
|
You can configure mods in MCM at any time. You can also toggle stagger, low health effects, and configure the threshold for low health effects.
|
That’s it, have fun!
Notice:
This mod has been tested on both versions and works on both next-gen and last-gen.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
