About this mod Machine translation
"Horizon" is a massive overhaul of "Fallout 4" that rebalances and expands gameplay from the ground up.
It contains thousands of changes, redesigned systems and new features, all of which have been carefully balanced.
Horizon focuses on survival mode and balances it to make the game more challenging and immersive,
However, it can be used on any difficulty mode if you wish.
settler clothier
There's also a new settler equipment system, where you can walk up to a settler and assign them a new weapon or gear, which can be selected from a menu.
Weapons are cheaper and easier to equip than settlers, and only require a few weapon parts compared to using real weapons. This allows you to equip your settlers without the hassle of giving them weapons and ammunition individually. There is also a feature that allows you to restore any existing weapons/ammo when you equip a new weapon. This way, you can scrap/sell their old weapons.
Powerful weapons grant +75% damage and require your settlers to have a certain amount of Smithing skills, as well as a higher level native leader.
Clothing/Armor There are many different sets to choose from and I will most likely add more in the future. Costume sets only require a few pieces of cloth/leather/steel each. Old clothes have the option to be automatically transferred to your inventory (or scrap storage) so you can scrap/sell them.
Field ammunition switch
New functionality has been created for weapons, allowing them to switch ammo and firing modes in the field depending on the weapon. You can't just switch any ammo on any weapon. Ammo selection is very appropriate and reasonable for each weapon to help keep the weapons different and serving different purposes.
Powerful specialty ammo is also available, but is usually more difficult to craft or find. API rounds are used for armor penetration of heavily armored targets. Freeze Wheel can slow down targets and may freeze smaller targets. Pulse wheels are very useful for robots and synthesizers. The Venom Wheel releases a burst of poison, poisoning the target. HE Rounds are high-explosive rounds that cause area damage on impact.
The picture below shows a battle rifle. It has one of the wider ammo options. In addition to the default .45 ammo, you'll also see "Conversion Kits," which help keep ammo switching balanced and immersive. The conversion kit requires a Gun Nut rating that matches similar to how the old conversion receivers were set up.
Armor and Costume Overhaul
Costumes and armor have received a massive overhaul. All vanilla/DLC armor now uses Horizon's custom mod attachment slot. These gear still work with Armorsmith Extended, but no longer use the Armorsmith mod slot.
All armor is balanced so all the same slot types allow for items like Ballistic Weave. All body slot garments can use 1 ballistic weave. All helmet slots accept 1 ballistic weave.
All armor values are more standardized, so you don't feel pressured to use specific clothing because your armor values are subdued so drastically. There are still differences between the garments, but there are no more overly bloated pieces. Most outfits also no longer have SPECIALs added. If you want stats, they should be properly earned/acquired via mod attachment upgrades. This allows you to use any outfit you want but still have great upgrade options to improve them.
The armor pieces have also been overhauled, with the different armor types having similar total armor amounts, but the amount of DR and ER giving them different characteristics. Each piece of armor can also be hidden (or changed to a different size), allowing you to still wear pieces but not make them look ugly on top of certain clothing.
Note: Horizon's full documentation is now included in multiple articles in the Articles tab.
Horizon has completely overhauled Fallout 4 in an effort to rebalance and expand the entire game.
It contains thousands of detailed changes and a wide variety of brand new additions. Our goal …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
