Version 1.02

132 new encounters added.

Added thank you dialogue to the "Caravan Raid" and "Rust Devil Raid the Caravan" travel encounters.

Added thank you dialogue to the "Minutemen vs. Gunslingers" and "Minutemen vs. Raiders" travel encounters.

Changed all automatic warrior encounters to respect the DLC01REPercentChance global variable.

Changed all camp encounters to enforce a camp state upon initialization so that they do not have containers, debris, or sleeping bags left over from previous random encounters.

Changed all object encounters to ensure they only run once. This is because object encounters are designed to be permanent changes to the game world that consume their spawn points, so I designed the object encounters in the Federation Encounter Pack to be unique and memorable like no other encounter.

Changed the way all random encounters clean themselves up to work around an issue with Bethesda's implementation. This should reduce the likelihood of errors in Papyrus logs and improve response times for getting new encounters in the same location.

Many random assault encounters have been changed to vary the number of attackers and defenders.

Changed many settler encounters to allow players to recruit them after being rescued.

Changed the "Abandoned Dog" camp encounter to spawn notes in a container instead of just on the ground.

Changed the "Fountain Full of Hats" object encounter to a smaller fountain so it is less noticeable.

Changed the "Crocodile Claw Hunting Bramlav" travel encounter to ensure the hunt starts immediately rather than later which you might have missed.

Changed the Hermit Crab Hatchling used in the "Combat Gone Wrong" scene to a template for the Far Harbor Hermit Crab Hatchling, removing the need for the Anti-Phobias remaster patch.

Changed the rarity of many Federation Encounter Pack encounters to be less proportional to the base game encounters, as many base game encounters have actual story or quest hooks in them.

Fixed an issue left in Bethesda's implementation where camp encounters could fail to clear the camp after the encounter, causing things like beds to remain disabled when they should be.

Fixed an issue where automatic Warcraft object encounters were not restricted to federal areas and therefore could spawn elsewhere in rare cases.

Fixed an issue where caravan traders' inventories were almost empty.

Fixed an issue where the Papyrus script log would display an error every time a bottleneck encounter was cleaned up. Bethesda has some erroneous data in its bottleneck encounter templates, which also prevents them from cleaning themselves up in a timely manner.

Fixed an issue where "abandoned dog" camp encounters would sometimes fail to clear the dog, especially if you didn't adopt it.

Fixed an issue where the Brotherhood of Steel Checkpoint and Super Mutant Assault Brotherhood of Steel Checkpoint bottleneck encounters could generate floating obstacles.

Fixed an issue where guns could spawn underground during the "Cactus Shootout" and "Killer Plant" scenario encounters.

Fixed an issue where "Federation Garden" random encounters would sometimes leave plants behind. Thanks shreddah4 for the reminder!

Fixed an issue where gnomes could fall into the ground when spawning in the "Gnome Collector" camp encounter.

Fixed an issue where the scavenger could spawn in the completely wrong direction during the "Scavenger Checking Destroyed Robot" encounter.

Fixed an issue where the "Super Mutants vs. Deathclaws" travel encounter would spawn if you were level enough to have both Super Mutants or Deathclaws appear, rather than both.

Fixed an issue where the merchant would not thank the player properly if you helped save the caravan during the "Deathclaw Attack Caravan" camp encounter.

Fixed an issue where the merchant's thank you …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
