About this mod Machine translation
This is a faster MCM alternative that adds a new menu for customizing your F4SE plugins and other MCM mods in-game, and authors can also add pages for their own mods via the ImGui API.
This MOD is the precursor to DLSS, FSR3, and XeSS upscaling MODs.
Author's words:
F4SE menu frame:
Fallout 4's shared in-game mod control panel.
Licensed, ported from Skyrim SE via SkyrimThiago.
If you like this mod, definitely recommend it!
If this mod is helpful to you, please also recommend the original SKSE menu framework.
What's this?
A modern ImGui-based settings menu into which other F4SE mods can be plugged. No custom hooks or input handling are required on their side. Open it with shortcut keys, gamepad combinations, or from the pause menu.
It also contains a translation layer for modules over existing mod configuration menus, so most MCM pages can be used in the same place, and the MCM can be uninstalled.
This version of the framework adds many new features!
feature
In-game key bindings: Set keyboard and controller activation keys in the settings window; display key bindings at startup
Font selection: Swap fonts from settings
Hotkey API: Mod authors can register named key bindings with conflict detection
Controller support: Navigation, operation prompts and button runes
Pause menu entry: "F4SE FRAMEWORK" line for quick access
Fallout-inspired theme: Styled to match the game’s HUD style
Menu Search: Quickly find pages and settings
MCM Compatibility: Load and edit most existing MCM mods in this menu (see notes below)
MCM compatibility
If you are already using a mod that comes with MCM configuration ('Data\MCM\Config\...\config.json'), this framework can display them under MCM Mod Configuration (Legacy).
Supports settings, key bindings, buttons, drop-down menus, images, and most scripted MCM operations
Write to the same 'Data\MCM\Settings\' file as the original MCM
), you can choose to coexist if you still retain the Mod configuration menu (switch in settings
FallUI HUD Presets (Important)
The built-in FallUIHUD editor and icon library allow you to edit the basic presets and UI that come with FallUI. If you want to use a custom FallUIHUD preset mod (community layout pack, beyond the base set), then use the original Mod configuration menu. The translation layer does not fully support custom preset workflows.

F4SE plug-in address library
All runtime/game versions should be supported, although I could only test with OG.
How to open the menu
Keyboard: Default F1; change in settings or "F4SEMenuFramework.ini"
Controller: Configurable (default is holding D-Pad up; see Settings/INI for details)
Pause menu: After installing "F4SEFramework.swf", select F4SE Framework from the ESC list
Compatibility Notes
Nvidia Smooth Motion is not compatible. This breaks the DX11 hooks used by this (and most other) ImGui overlay interfaces. Regarding frame generation, it is recommended to use frame generation.

MCM JSON/Papyrus (legacy version)
Continue to send the ordinary MCM package ("config.json", optional "settings.ini"/"keybinds.json"). Players using this framework will see your page under MCM Mod Configuration (Legacy). No separate framework configuration format is required. However, it is best for new F4SE plug-ins to be registered locally with ImGui.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
