About this mod Machine translation

describe

For whatever reason, there are some meshes in the game files that never made it into the game itself, despite being fully functional and already set up to fit in with the rest of the game. Several of these are actually quite useful for making more complex buildings - extra door variations, interior corners for sloping walls, and some smaller walls for sturdier builds.

This mod adds these unused grids to the game, giving you more options when building your own settlement.

Full list of add-ons:

2 door changes

2 small wall changes

1 wall end change

1 flat roof wall variation

1 bridge changes

1 floor change

1 outside corner of pitched roof wall

1 inside corner of pitched roof wall

Version 1.5 update

7 new buildings! I recently learned how to add snap points to other meshes while working on another project, so I went back and added

Added more unused settlement grids to this mod. Complete list:

3 new outward sloping roof corner variations (including previously unavailable rounded corners seen on wooden shed prefabs)

1 new inward corner roof corner

2 new roof changes (one is a bit cumbersome when it comes to placement.)

1 new wooden railing variation

Compatibility patches have been added for Simple Intersection and Homemaker.

The Structure -> Wood -> Wall category has been subdivided to save you browsing 50+ pieces at once when building. If you're a fan of blandness, there's an optional non-classified version.

Fixed a bug where some sections of the workbench menu had no preview or resource costs.

It is recommended that you scrap any structures created with this mod before updating, otherwise you may experience disappearing mesh issues that may cause stability issues. If you're really paranoid, I suggest you tear down your buildings, disable the mod, make a new save, and then install the update.

Install

Extract esp. Files included in the download to the Fallout 4/Data directory.

Make sure the "sResourceDataDirsFinal=" line in the My Games/Fallout4/Fallout4.ini file contains "MESHES".

To enable the mod, select ExplanedSettlementBuildings.esp using the mod manager, or place "bEnableFileSelection=1" under [Launcher] in Falloutprefs.ini and click on the bottom left of the Power Armor visor in the official launcher to activate the .esp from there.

If you're having issues, please note that Fallout 4's latest patch automatically disables all mods when opening the game launcher. To resolve this issue, use a Mod Manager such as Mod Organizer (available here) or manually set the plugin in Users/%username/AppData/Fallout4/plugins.txt and set it to read-only.

compatibility

Comparability patches are available for Homemaker to enable full-length wooden walls, while Simple Intersection adds appropriate tags to the fragments added by this mod. Everything else should work fine, including SSEX, as far as I know.

question

The pieces can be a little finicky in terms of placement - for some it may be helpful to lay down another piece first and press the other pieces on top of them.

This mod was made in FO4Edit, if you're worried about that.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
