Damage widget
Dynamic combat feedback
Dynamic combat feedback is directly where your bullets, blades and fists hit.
What does this mod do?
Have you ever wondered how much damage your weapons actually do?
Is that new rifle really better? Enemy armor can absorb
How much damage?
that last blow
Is it a critical hit, a powerful attack, or the one shot that finally kills them?
The damage widget provides immediate visual combat feedback at the point of impact.
Each successful hit displays the damage done, the type of damage, damage prevented by armor or resistances, special critical and power attack effects, and even a Fallout-like skull icon to indicate a confirmed critical hit.
The result is more responsive combat while giving you a better idea of which weapons, damage types, and attacks work.
Features:
Injury numbers on impact
The dot appears directly where the hit occurred, rather than floating around the target.
Physical damage and elemental damage
View the exact type of damage your weapon deals, including physical, energy, fire, cold, electricity, radiation, and poison damage.
See which armor actually prevents
In addition to damage, the widget can show how much damage is absorbed by armor, resistance, or block.
This makes it much easier to judge whether a weapon will be effective against heavily armored enemies.
Critical hit effect
Critical hits can get their own animations, colors, and special visual effects, making them instantly recognizable in combat.
Powerful attack effect
Power attacks have their own heavier impact animation, and can use completely different effects and colors than critical attacks.
This also works against ranged weapon slams.
critical strike skeleton
Confirming a kill displays the familiar skull icon from Fallout 4, directly next to the damage number.
Whether the last shot completely routed the enemy was anyone's guess. If the skeleton appears, the target is dead.
Melee, Firearms, and More
Supports firearms, melee attacks, power attacks, weapon slams, critical hits, block attacks, mixed damage weapons, and external instant kill effects.
Damage display mode
Choose how much information you want to see on each hit.
total damage
Displays the total damage value for the entire hit.
Simple, concise, and easy to read during a quick battle.
detailed
Skills differentiate between physical and elemental damage, allowing you to see exactly where the damage is coming from.
For example, a weapon that deals physical and fire damage could display:
31 physical fitness
16 fire
Detailed mode is especially useful when comparing weapons with multiple damage types.
Damage type color
Each damage type is immediately identifiable by its own color:
Physics - warm white
Energy - bright cyan
Fire - orange-red
Frozen – ice blue
Electrical - Electric Purple
Radiation - radioactive lime
Poison - poisonous green
Prefer something simpler?
Color by damage type can be disabled and use a uniform white damage number instead.
Prevent harm
Ever wonder why your supposedly powerful weapon barely hurts your enemies?
The damage widget can display damage prevented by armor, damage resistance, elemental resistance, or blocking.
merge
Displays all damage prevention values combined into one.

Types
Separate protects against physical and elemental damage.
Gray represents protection against physi …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
