I (original author DegenerateDak, the same below) have always hated the very inconsistent damage types in Fallout 4; this mod aims to change that!

All weapon damage now reflects the base ammo type used by the weapon. This results in damage buffs for some weapons that don't do enough damage (such as submachine guns), and small adjustments to other weapons to bring them in line with similar weapons. This mod does not make any changes to the attachment's damage upgrade multiplier, and the automatics still require a small amount of debuffing to balance the game.

After installing this mod, you don't have to worry about your enemies feeling as unkillable as blood cows.

This mod serves as a framework to only rebalance vanilla weapons, but I will be basing all my future mods off of this list, as well as updating my past mods.

Here is a list of all basic damage by caliber: .22 - 12.32 - 14.38 - 16

9mm - 18

5mm - 20

7.62T - 22

5.7 (AP) - 24.410 - 25.40- 26.45- 28

10mm - 30.357 - 32

20ga - 35.30 carbine - 36.44-40 - 37.223 - 38

5.45 - 39

5.56 - 40

7.62x39 - 42.44 - 44

12.7 - 45.308 - 50

12ga - 50.30-06 - 54.45-70 - 58.50 - 75

You may notice that some of these ammo types are not from the original game. I would use this chart for any weapon that uses ammo ammo types.

If you like, feel free to make any mods based on these damage.

One last thing: this mod does make one change to the Liberator, changing the caliber from 10mm to .38. It does too much damage in 10mm, and the bullet is not accurate for that weapon anyway.

enjoy!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
