Dear Modding UI:
Updated on October 6th:
Version 0.3.1
- Fixed an issue in DearModdingUI 0.2.0 where in-game menus and performance overlays would not load. Community shaders now support DearModdingUI 0.2.0 and above.
Version 0.3.0
- New: LOD blending feature to match the brightness of distant terrain and objects.
- New: Water parallax in water element effect.
- Exponential height fog shows specific accumulated fog and weather contours.
- Performance Overlay now shows GPU time for each function.
- Dynamic cubemaps can now reflect on more surfaces, and new material reflection settings have been added.
- First person hands and weapons now cast screen space shadows.
- Screen space GI, terrain shading, screen space shading and other features now share more code with the Skyrim community shaders.
- Removes wetting effect.
- Fixed fog and terrain shadows appearing where they shouldn't.
- Some settings have been renamed. Recheck terrain shadows, screen space GI and RenderDoc settings after updating.
- Inverse square lighting now only affects the light source it is set to.
- Terrain shading still requires xLODGen to create terrain heightmaps.
- "Fallout 4 OG 1.10.163" is now loaded, but only version 1.11.240 is officially supported.
Updated on October 1st:
Version 0.2.1
- Imagespace post-processing now uses the game's own shaders; only screen-space reflections are replaced and the reconstruction exactly matches the original.
- Dynamic Cubemap: Added upstream screen space reflection toggle functionality to turn off screen space reflection for all surfaces.
- Amplification: Screen space reflections use rebuilt vanilla shaders, adjusted to the rendering resolution, replacing decompiled copies, so they fade in at the edges of the screen like the vanilla; Updated Streamline to fix an exception in its application rejection list check.
Version 0.2.0
- Added in-game update log.
- Screen Space Shadows: First person hands and weapons are no longer dimmed.
- Performance overlay: shown by default when loading.
- Screen Space GI: Ported upstream's GI integration, noise reduction, resolution mode, and vanilla SSAO toggle functionality; indirect lights are now combined in linear space, the game forms diffuse lights, respects vertex AO, and has stronger AO defaults for indoor scenes lit by placed lights.
- Dynamic Cube Map: Ported upstream capture pipeline, limited reflections to water and wet surfaces, fixed flat silver reflections elsewhere.
- Wetting effects: timing of upstream rainfall, bank wetness, weather ponding and film roughness.
- Amplification: Restored upscaling channels for depth and refraction, which had been silently skipped before.
- Fixed several rebuilt engine shaders that were inconsistent with vanilla output, including decals, static objects, grass, tile lighting, and sunlight with screen space shadows disabled.
- RenderDoc: Capture game frames as frame generation loads, loads the feature and automatically finds the installed RenderDoc.
- OG and NG runtimes: Each engine path now has an address; not yet tested, only 1.11.240 is currently supported.
Version 0.1.1
- Fixed exclusive full screen black screen when loading upscaling or frame generation; exclusive full screen now preserves native rendering and returns to TAA without frame generation.
- Note that upscaling and frame generation pages require borderless windows.
Shaders that fail to compile are no longer recompiled every frame.
- Linux/Proton: Warn when Wine built-in shader compiler is detected; functionality requires Windows 10's d3dcompiler_47.dll.
- Clarification of native HDR modding support: RenoDX and Special K HDR do not support upscaling or frame generation.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
