BodySlide has been updated to add support for Fallout 4, once again bringing a ton of new features. Unprecedented flexibility combined with exceptional ease of use lets you have all the outfits and shapes you've dreamed of.

For the latest updates, known issues, and more, check out the Pinned Comments and Changes tabs!

Note: Starting with BodySlide version 3.8, this utility requires OpenGL 3.3. If your card does not support this feature (a card that meets Skyrim's minimum system requirements should), you should not update BodySlide until you get a better card. (Reminder: N cards do not support openGL starting from the 30 series)

Customize clothing and bodies without editing mesh files!

Use the sliders to create your personal shapes.

Fancy clothing filtering will quickly show you the clothing you want, while a texture preview window shows you what you'll get.

Build morph files allow you to use sliders in your game using LooksMenu or other script mods.

Outfit Studio

The power of an experienced modder is now in your hands!

Convert garments between bodies, create your own BodySlide sliders, correct animation weights, otherwise edit the mesh.

If you know what you're doing, you can even edit static meshes.

Import and export .FBX, .OBJ and .NIF meshes.

Almost no previous modding experience is required.

physics

Along with the appearance of the BodySlide plugin on the CBBE mod page comes the "CBBE Body Physics" set.

Select it in the BodySlide's Outfit/Body dropdown menu and build it. Your L body should now have NZ physics.

GitHub repository

Source code and similar stuff (GPLv3+ license).

Add the following lines to the "Fallout4Custom.ini" file located in "Documents\My Games\Fallout4" or through your mod manager (if applicable):

[Archive]

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

sResourceDataDirsFinal=

(No, that's not a typo. Yes, all three lines.)

Manual

Download and open the archive with 7Zip, then extract the Tools folder to Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout 4/Data.

Once completed, the executable can be found in the "Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout 4/Data/Tools/BodySlide" folder.

Mod Manager

Download and install the archive to MO and enable it like you would any other mod.

In MO2, go to the Data tab on the right, find BodySlide x64.exe in the Tools/BodySlide folder, right-click it and add it as executable. You can then launch it via MO2.

When BodySlide opens, click the "Settings" button and make sure the "Game Data Path" points to your actual game data folder, for example "C:/Games/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout 4/Data/".

Install any BodySlide plugins (such as body mods and clothing) into MO as well.

After BatchBuilding, these files will appear in your Overwrites folder. You need to create a new mod folder, say 'BodySlide Output', move the files from Overwrites to this folder, and enable it.

We don't address MO installation issues, please ask for help in the Mod Organizer community.

renew

You can uninstall old files/install new files, or just install new files and overwrite when prompted. Be sure to back up your personal presets/groups/bodies/outfits to the SliderSets/SliderPresets/ShapeData/SliderGroups folder so they don't get deleted, either accidentally or by a buggy Mod Manager.

Notice:

If you encounter any problems, find the main Mod Organizer Mod Manager and BodySlide executables and set them to always run with administrator elevation.

Q1: If I have a question, what do you recommend I do before doing anything (including posting a question)?

A: Read the mod description, especially the FAQ. Read the sticky notes. Reinstall BodySlide. If your mod manager of choice doesn't serve its primary purpose, install BodySlide manually.

Q2: Why do I get errors when building Sets, saving projects, or writing other files?

A: You may have to set …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
