Race Information: Legend:
Feeling the weight of budget cuts, leading Big MT R&D centers to implement extreme measures such as "Project Burke" and "Project Hare," Big MT's brightest minds sought to find additional sources of revenue, whether it was signing more defense contracts on top of the lucrative existing ones, or something more personal.
Wanting to know what information they could get out of the secret "Project Spiral" that the U.S. government had commandeered from the European federation, and its purpose to create organic super-soldiers from non-human species through bioengineering, they decided to develop their own version of the project in hopes of stealing all the juicy government funds away from those probably bad Commie Repclip'ed EC Eggheads. Dr. Borous's "Zoology, Fauna and DNA Scrambling Technology" department, as he likes to call it, was designated as the primary focus of this work, but other areas of research were explored in other parts of Big MT.
Robot Warfare also saw their chance to shine and stole Borous's thunder (and glory), even though the project might seem at first glance to be at odds with their usual field of work, and set out to undercut Helix and RobCo and beat them at their respective games by creating robot super soldiers inspired by animal designs and using advanced AI systems to dominate the battlefield. Therefore, the project codenamed "AMELIA" was created. Countless hours were spent researching the best materials, the latest cybernetics and artificial intelligence, the most advanced combat protocols to design a humanoid yet animalistic robot that could serve as the most fearsome stormtrooper and the best infiltrator.
Also towards the end of the prototyping phase, a new offshoot was planned: a set of separate units produced for the civilian market, to compete with RobCo's rumored upcoming star product: the Servitron, born as an evolution of the unexpectedly successful "Fisto" series. Additional designs are made, more details are put into anatomical precision, and systems are integrated to enhance the experience of them... put into use. Rather than replacing the more animalistic design of the original blueprints, modularity was outlined so that customers could decide what they were after, whether it was more human-like parts, or original animalistic ones. If the original design does prove itself successful in certain niche markets, who can the big MT argue? After all, anything scientific!
Unfortunately, the project came to an abrupt halt after World War I, with some staff killed in the nuclear explosion or its fallout, and the few survivors being diverted by the think tank's increasingly out-of-control experiments. It ended up being nothing more than "encrypted files in the Big MT" of the mainframe and some materials and components stored unopened in a warehouse for a prototype structure that never happened... That's how it would have all started if it hadn't been for the remaining three members of the project, shattered by the events they witnessed at the hands of the brain trust, collecti …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
