introduce:

Weapons finally have real weight.

Aiming in Fallout 4 has always been very stable. Whether you're armed with a light pistol or a heavy sniper rifle, the weapon remains virtually stationary as long as you keep aiming.

Steady Hand introduces realistic weapon swing and aim fatigue systems to make each gun feel unique.

Weapon stability now depends on your remaining action points, weapon weight, strength, and sustained fire. Heavy weapons are increasingly difficult to keep on target, while lighter firearms are easier to control.

Each weapon now has its own characteristics.

Long aiming turns into a tactical decision.

Controlled shooting is more advantageous than endless spraying.

Instead of adding random inaccuracies, a steady hand simulates physical fatigue. As action points are depleted, weapon swings gradually increase in intensity until you recover, creating a more immersive and believable shooting experience.

Features:

✔ Realistic weapon swing based on physics fatigue

✔ Action point based aiming system

✔ Weapon weight affects stability

✔ Continuous shooting will increase fatigue

✔ Strength reduces fatigue when aiming

✔ Powered armor provides extra stability

✔ Optional damage-based weapon swing

✔ Fully configurable INI

✔ Lightweight native F4SE plug-in

✔ Fixed mod adding weapons without shaking

Mechanism

Holding a weapon consumes action points over time. Heavy weapons cost more, while Strength and Power Armor help reduce fatigue.

As long as you have enough action points, your aim will remain stable. Once fatigue accumulates, the weapon swing will gradually increase, resulting in shortened aiming time and controlled burst firing rather than sustained accuracy.

The result is a combat system that's more physical without feeling frustrating or unfair.

compatibility:

Steady Hands is compatible with almost all weapon mods as it works completely fine in F4SE.

No weapon patch is required, both vanilla and modded firearms automatically benefit from the new aiming system m.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
