About this mod Machine translation
This mod puts some Fire Emblem into your XCOM, taking advantage of the "Team Points" system left behind by Firaxis to provide small buffs to squads that trust each other.
NOTE: For those of you too lazy to scroll, if you have the leadership pack for LWS, you will always see a 0 squad cohesion level during squad select. This is where you add soldiers to the screen for an extra level of squad cohesion.
Otherwise it generally works with any other mod, unless specified below in the incompatibilities section. Yes, this means that larger lineup size mods apply here.
The displayed value only updates when you add a new soldier to your squad, not when you remove a soldier.
The system default values are as follows:
Below 300 points, the team is working normally
At 300 to 600 points, deployed squads gain +2 Target, +2 Def, +1 Mobility, +5 Hack, +5 Psi buff Offense, +10 Willpower
At 600 to 1200 points, a deployed squad gains +5 Target, +5 Def, +2 Critical Chance, +10 Hack, +7 Psi Offense, +1 Movement, and +15 Will
As well as over 1200 points, a deployed squad buff will gain +5 Target, +5 Def, +5 Critical Chance, +2 Mobility, +15 Hack, +10 Psi Offense and +20 will buff these buffs
and more can be adjusted in XComSquadCohesion.ini located (wherever XCOM 2 is installed) steamapps\workshop\content\268500\660665065\Config
Squadmates gain cohesion among each other through:
Vanilla method
Healing a soldier +5 points
+15 points for stabilizing a downed soldier
Bringing a downed soldier out of the battlefield earns +30 points
and gain +10 points for killing a flanking warrior enemy.
These are managed by XComGameData_XpData.ini, which comes with the mod (where XCOM 2 is installed) steamapps\workshop\content\268500\660665065\Config. These were also between two soldiers, no longer.
Add method
At the end of each mission, the change in cohesion between all team members (ie each team member will receive a reward or penalty with all other team members) will be obtained by:
Mission accomplished? +5 points.
Was the mission flawless in terms of soldier injuries and deaths? +5 points or more.
How many people were killed? Earn 10% of points.
Did someone die? -3 points for each death.
Has anyone been caught? -2 points per capture.
Is anyone hurt? Each damage -1 point
Like the buffs above, these can be adjusted in XComSquadCohesion.ini (where XCOM 2 is installed) steamapps\workshop\content\268500\660665065\Config
Penalties
In addition to the above, the death of a soldier in a cohesive squad will shake everyone who knows the soldier.
By default:
If they don't understand that well, there will be no reaction.
If a soldier ends up dying in the line of duty, each soldier in a low cohesion relationship with the dead soldier (25) will have a 20% chance of receiving shock.
If a soldier ends up dying in the line of duty, each soldier who has a Medical Cohesion relationship with the dead soldier (50) will have a 40% chance of gaining Shake.
If a soldier ends up dying in a mission, each soldier with a high bonding relationship with the dead soldier (75) will have a 70% chance of receiving shock.
You can get a rough idea of how your soldiers are related by their cohesion rating in the personnel list, and see the exact score in the armory menu.
The vanilla chance of Shaken being applied to a severely wounded soldier is unaffected.
Cosmetics/Quality of Life Features
When viewing a soldier in the Armory, click the Relationships button to view individual relationship scores.
Squad selection now has a squad organization feature, you can now save squad compositions that you know work well with each other.
Can't figure out what your name is? Just leave it blank and the mod will automatically generate a squad name to use with the given squad composition.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
