Version 1.2 Danger Sense Radius 20
Version 1.1 adds Reaper to replace Shinigami
Version 1.0 Initial Release

Since XCOM 2 was out, I've been excited about the possibility of chopping down aliens. Then I quickly became confused by the melee mechanics.
It has too many disadvantages in vanilla:
- ) less damage and chance than shotgun
2.) You are exposed after a melee attack
3.) You have a chance to trigger another pod
This course is designed to make melee combat fun and rewarding. It may be unbalanced on lower difficulties.
I recommend using something like A Better Advent (

Ability tree:
SQUADDIE:
+sword slice
+ Path of the Samurai (+3 damage + +10 chance on sword hit. -20 target penalty against primary weapon)
--- -------------------------------------------------- ---------- Kensai
(left tree)
company:
+ Unstoppable (melee attacks never grazing. Try counterattacking your pesky shapeshifters!)
SERGEANT:
+ Bladestorm (like vanilla)
LIEUTENANT:
+Training Discipline (Gives +3 Mobilization and +30 Dodge.)
CAPTAIN:
+ Lightning Reflex (Reaction shots against this unit have a 90% chance to hit reduction for the first shot, and 70% for additional shots.) Already

[ -Imlacable (like vanilla), replaced by Lightning Reflexes]
main:
+ Shigurui (Gives 1 bonus action point when wounded in combat, +80 dodge and +50 critical chance (melee only) for 2 rounds.)
COLONEL:
+ Cyclone Strike (Two slashes on the target. Each has a -15 target penalty. No cooldown.)
------------------------------ ---------------------------------
Ronin (right tree)
company:
+Energy Focus (deals shred damage to your melee attacks)
waiter:
+ Sense of danger (orbital movement within 20 meters. Will not be surprised by faceless or burrowing weepers) LIEUTENANT:
+ Yamabushi Heritage (gains +2 Armor, +30 Defense, can regenerate 2 HP each round, up to a maximum of 6 HP)
CAPTAIN:
+ Untouchable (like vanilla)
main:
+Dragon Strike (5m radius aoe melee attack. Requires 2 AP to activate. 5 cooldowns)
COLONEL:
+ Shinigami (Every time you kill a living target you collect souls which you can use to increase your AP.
Spending a soul to add an AP is a free action, but you can only do so if you are not moving.
The soul count resets at the beginning of each battle.
You gain +1 critical strike chance for every 10 souls you collect in total and +1 critical damage for every 20 souls (melee only, based on total melee kills from all fights since joining shinigami)
To really benefit from multiple AP I highly recommend an AP Sword Mod so you can blue move slash without ending your turn.
If you don't use it you can run very far ;))
DEPRECATED
[-Reaper (like vanilla but 3 cooldowns instead of 4), replaced by Shinigami]

GTS-Perk:
+Eagle Eye (+30 critical hit chance and +3 critical damage on melee attacks)

All class related parameters can be adjusted to your liking in XComSamuraiClass.ini.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
