Randomized soldier stat growth for each level
Does every soldier have the same stats? Well it bothers me too, so let's remake one of the best second wave options.
Stat growth should now be randomized for each level, with raw stat growth being the median, and possible caps removed. For balance reasons, there are some exceptions:
There are exceptions to this for Snipers and the first level of PsiOps, as with such a large amount of stats gained at this level, a bad roll can cripple them. Snipers have the opportunity to earn a small bonus on top of the normal growth of the first level. PsiOps already provides random data growth for PsiOffense, so I kept it the same and just took off the cap, so with real lucky rolls you can grow your own Professor X ;)
Grenadiers pose a problem as the last 4 levels only give them +1 target rank. I want their range to be between +2 and +6 for the last 4 levels. The reason for the way the stat formula works is that they have a chance to roll 0 in Lt. and Major rank.
Installation: Download the file into the Xcom 2>XcomGame>Mods folder and unzip it.
Version 0.1 everything should work with new activities. I'm still waiting for some feedback on how it will play in the final game and if any stat adjustments are needed. Currently you get a guaranteed point of Aim per level (the exceptions being the Grenadier, see above, and the Sharpshooter, which is guaranteed 2 points), as the chance of getting 0 points when you level up seems a bit too exciting to me, and I'll readjust if the final stats end up being too high.
V 0.2 Expert
Minor bug fixes for V 0.3 Clean up .ini a bit
V 0.4 fixes possible file name issue
V 0.5 beta version - The code seems to be OK, but the game still refuses to bypass the defaults. You can use the .ini from this version to replace the original .ini - this has been confirmed to work. But I want to integrate it back into the launcher as soon as possible.
V 0.6 working version, tested in SDK and games. exist
With the help of the mighty folks at v 0.7, the entire ini was rewritten again, introducing random hacker stat growth for experts. Balanced Outlaws stats, now range is 79-104 compared to vanilla 91.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
