Creates a grenade that deals less damage at the edges and full damage in the center
Reworked how grenades work in Long War, grenades only do full damage at the center of the target, and damage (and environmental damage) gradually decreases as you get further from the center, customizable with 3 parameters via INI: full damage area, edge damage, and the number of separations of environmental damage (default is 3 instances, which means inner 1/3 or 1 tile wide radius, whichever is larger does full damage, middle 1/3 does 66% damage, outer 1/ 3 deals 33% damage); damage to units scales linearly with distance, auto-rolling decimal point damage (80% deals 4 damage = 3.2 damage, which means 20% deals 4 damage, 80% deals 3 damage), all bonuses occur after a fall is applied, and decay also applies to the grenade's crushing properties.
NOTE: Distance ratio squared is used for falloff in LW grenades, this can be customized using the FALL_OFF_SQ option in the INI, also 0% for LW edge damage
The best one to use is the Grenade Throwing Tweaks mod (
WARNING: As any XCOM 2 mod does, saving the game with the mod enabled will cause saving the game to only work when the mod is enabled, as this is a tweak mode using an existing template, content should not be lost after disabling the mod so for now you will have to fix it with this mod, if you decide to disable the mod
Compatibility Note:
This mod covers 'ProximityMineDetonation', 'RocketLauncher', 'BlasterLauncher' and all grenade ini configuration templates listed and may be compatible with other mods that make changes to the same template
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
