Scalability Fix - Optimized Clarity
✨ Core optimization suggestions
**TL;DR Optimized Settings (No Switch Option Version)**
- **Overall Quality**: Set to **High**
- **Vegetation Quality**: Set to **Low**
**Note**: Static screenshots can only show the effect of TAA under the best circumstances. The original game has the typical TAA blur problem during movement. This mod has significantly improved this, but it is still not perfect compared to turning off TAA directly.

❓ Native rendering is a thing of the past
As of **1.3 patch**, the game's internal resolution scaling mechanism has become misleading. While the slider still exists, it only selects from fixed resolution targets, making true 100% native rendering no longer possible.
**Actual resolution value used (taking 1440p as an example)**:
- **100%** – 2560×1440 (100% of 1440p) — *Native (deprecated)*
- **67–100%** – 1716×965 (67% of 1440p) — *Quality*
- **59–66%** – 1485×836 (58% of 1440p) — *Balanced*
- **31–58%** – 1280×720 (50% of 1440p) — *Performance*
- **25–30%** – 853×480 (33% of 1440p) — *Ultimate Performance*
**Technical Details**: Upon further investigation, this "fixed" behavior appears to only occur when using DLSS. Both FSR and TSR provide fine control over the `r.ScreenPercentage` value.
| Supersampling Method | Sharpness Slider | AA Method |
|:--- |:--- |:--- |
| DLSS | `r.NIS.Sharpness` | TAA (`r.AntialiasingMethod=2`) |
| TSR | `r.NIS.Sharpness` | TSR (`r.AntialiasingMethod=4`) |
| FSR | `r.FidelityFX.FSR3.Sharpness` | TSR (`r.AntialiasingMethod=4`) |
*Note: At 1440p resolution, the game limits resolution scaling to 59.0-66.0% when using a 3090 graphics card. * 😅
**Map popping** is a noticeable problem, especially with objects like cloth or fallen leaves on the ground - even at the highest settings. This mod aims to solve these problems with minimal performance loss.

🎯 Anti-aliasing quality
| AA quality | No switching option | UE4 | UE5 |
|:--- |:--- |:--- |:--- |
| Low | FXAA | Fuzzy TAA (Stable) | Fuzzy TSR (Stable) |
| Medium | TAA | Sharp TAA (slight jitter) | Sharp TSR (slight jitter) |
| High | TSR | Sharpest TAA (obvious jitter) | Sharpest TSR (obvious jitter) |
**Native Resolution Return**: Native resolution can now be adjusted manually, but must be reset every time the game is launched, as the game resets the resolution settings on launch (mods are now available to restore the old behavior). Otherwise, the resolution "slider" remains in effect.
- If TAA is turned off, contact shadows will be disabled to reduce visual noise.
- *Optimized based on Hybrid's UE Optimization Guide. *
⚙️ Post-processing
Motion blur now looks good, if you want to use it for some reason.
- **Low** – turns off glow
- **Medium** – slight depth of field/glow/ambient occlusion adjustments
- **HIGH** – Full resolution glow, lens flare and depth of field
🌑Shadow quality
| Shadow quality | No toggle option | UE4 | UE5 |
|:--- |:--- |:--- |:--- |
| Low | 1024x, 0.5d | 1024x, 0.5d | VSM 0x |
| Medium | 1536x, 0.75d | 1536x, 0.75d | VSM 2x |
| High | VSM 0x | 2048x, 1.0d | VSM 4x |
| Extra high | VSM 8x | 3072x, 1.5d | VSM 8x |
| Extreme | VSM 16X | 4096x, 2.0d | VSM 16x |
✨ Special effects quality
Enable screen space reflections at all levels. Moved Subsurface Scattering settings out of Shadow Quality.
👁️ Sight distance
Now controls the draw distance of some glowing objects.
🖼️ Texture quality
This mainly adjusts VRAM limits and anisotropic filtering.
🌿 Vegetation quality
Fixed issue with textures popping up by forcing `foliage.MinimumScreenSize = 0` in all settings.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
