VHModpackFix

VHModpackFix is a lightweight collection of optional compatibility fixes for a heavily modded Valheim setup. It makes Epic Loot windows, bow aiming, backpacks, nearby storage, Wisplight mist clearing, armor visuals, dungeons, locations, and several other mod interactions behave more reliably.

The mod does not add items, recipes, creatures, or locations of its own. A compatibility fix stays inactive when its related mod is not installed, and every major group can be turned off separately.

What does it fix?

| Fix | What players will notice | Effect on worlds and saves | Install on |

|---|---|---|---|

| Epic Loot result windows | Enchanting and rune results keep the correct item icon, name, description, layout, button style, and working button. The replace-effect window shows the selected item and all choices without empty or overlapping areas. | Interface only. Items change only after the player confirms the normal Epic Loot action. | Client |

| Epic Loot material amounts | Enchanting costs show available / required, for example 192/1. With AzuCraftyBoxes, allowed nearby chests are included in the available amount. | Display only. No resources are created, moved, or spent by the fix. | Client |

| AzuCraftyBoxes container safety | Crafting and enchanting checks continue to work after an old or unloaded chest disappears. | Does not alter chest contents, crafting costs, or saves. | Client |

| Sunken Crypt room connection | Prevents one broken vanilla room connection from causing warnings or unreliable crypt generation. | Only future crypt generation can benefit; existing generated crypts remain unchanged. | Host/server |

| Expanded procedural dungeons | New procedural interiors can use more vertical space and aim for a configurable number of successfully placed rooms. Difficult layouts stop safely instead of retrying forever. Special boss and quest layouts keep their normal behavior. | Only dungeons generated or deliberately regenerated after enabling the feature are affected. Existing saved layouts are not rebuilt. Larger layouts use more one-time generation time, memory, and save space. | Same version on host/server and clients |

| Bow aiming | Aim can be activated during a draw without turning the shot into a block. Zoom stays active while its button remains held, even after firing or while moving. Secondary bow attacks are supported, including Magic Supremacy's Crystaldraw. | Controls only; no character, item, or save changes. | Client |

| Arrow flight | Arrow speed, drop, accuracy, and a small aim correction can be configured. Epic Loot projectile bonuses still apply normally. | Affects only arrows fired while the option is enabled. | Client |

| Wisplight mist clearing | Radius and dispersal strength have separate multipliers. Both default to 1. A default-enabled optimization corrects Valheim's FPS-dependent mist updates and spreads ground checks and particle preparation across nearby frames. An enlarged radius keeps its real clearing area and movement response without multiplying the boundary workload. Mistwalker, wisp torches, creatures, and world devices are not changed. | Local mist presentation only. The Wisplight item, world, save, and network format are untouched. | Client |

| AAABuildMenu after changing worlds | Search, filters, expanded grid, key hints, and pinned recipes appear correctly after leaving one world and joining another. | Interface only. Favorites, pins, settings, worlds, and saves are preserved. | Client |

| AdventureBackpacks + AzuAutoStore | Automatic storage reliably moves eligible backpack items to nearby storage. It no longer reports moves that did not happen, leaves empty stacks, gets stuck on early slots, or redirects normal inventory items back into the backpack. | Moves existing items only when the player uses automatic storage. | Client |

| Backpack beside an opened container | The equipped backpack can stay visible as a third panel beside a chest or other opened container. Drag

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
