Parry Bosses
EN — Perfect-block (parry) a boss and it gets staggered exactly like a normal mob: 2 seconds of
stagger, its current attack is interrupted, it cannot start new attacks, and it takes 2x damage
during the window. Bosses have no stagger animation state in vanilla (that is why parrying them does
nothing), so this mod drives IsStaggering() with a timer and thereby reuses all vanilla stagger logic.
Chinese - After perfectly blocking (reflecting) the Boss, the Boss will be frozen for 2 seconds like a normal mob: immobilized, the current attack will be interrupted,
During this period, it will take 2 times the damage and have visual feedback such as material flashing.
Effect
Lasts for 2 seconds after successfully rebounding the boss (configurable):
- The boss cannot move, current attacks are immediately interrupted, and new attacks cannot be initiated.
- You attack it within the freeze window → 2x damage
- Visual feedback: Boss orange material flashes/glows + sparks + overhead STAGGER! + warm color point light + screen prompts
Why can't the original version do it? The original bounce does call Stagger(), but Eikthyr / Bonemass / Moder / Yagluth and other bosses
There is no stiff animation state for tag=stagger in the animation controller, so SetTrigger("stagger") will do nothing.
This Mod uses a timer to directly pull IsStaggering() to true, thereby fully reusing the original immobilization/interruption/double damage logic.

m_staggerWhenBlocked is read on the client that made the block, and the 2x damage judgment is executed on the Boss owner (host/server).
So the host and all players need to install the same DLL.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
