DeathRecap
Find out exactly what killed you, and see where your friends died.
DeathRecap records the damage you take. When you die, a What killed you window shows:
- The killing blow: who or what dealt it, and how much.
- Damage by attacker: creatures with their star level, other players or the world itself. That covers falls, drowning, burning, poison, freezing, smoke, lava, the boiling Ashlands sea, falling trees, falling building pieces and more.
- Damage by type: blunt, slash, pierce, fire, frost, lightning, poison and spirit, before armour and resistances.
- Every hit from the last 30 seconds, newest first: when it landed, how much it took off you compared with how hard it hit (so you can see what your armour and block stopped), and the health you had left.
Your friends' graves on your map. When another player dies, you're told who and in which biome, and their grave gets a skull on your map. It stays until they've taken their things back. Players who join later see the graves too.
How to use
- The window opens by itself when you die and closes when you respawn.
- End opens your last recap again at any time, or closes it.

Multiplayer
The recap is client-side: each player who wants it installs it, whether they host or join.
The graves on the map need DeathRecap on the host (or the dedicated server) too, because the host is the one that knows where every grave is. Players without the mod aren't affected.
Removing the mod
Nothing is saved anywhere (the grave pins aren't saved either), so you can remove it at any time.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
