CharmaKameleon
Tame wild necks like wolves - then breed them for tiny hatchlings that grow up right
before your eyes.
Features
- Tame necks like wolves. Feed a wild neck raw meat (meat), keep your
distance while it tames — it fights back, and it spits — then claim it: pet
it, give it a name, and command Follow / Stay. It will defend you like any
tamed wolf.
- Necks can breed. Keep a fed, tamed pair together and they'll form a
loving bond — watch for the heart effects — and after a pregnancy of about a
day the mother gives birth in front of you.
- hatchlings are born small. Newborn neck hatchlings spawn at 30% size and grow to full
size over one in-game day. All completely configurable.
- Rare hatchlings colours. Every hatchling has a small chance of being Ember,
Ash or Copper instead of the natural coat. —. The colour is rolled once, at birth, and saved to that neck, so it survives unloading
and growing up, and an Ember cub stays Ember for life.
- Stats like a wolf's. Necks use the wolf's diet, feeding behaviour and
breeding parameters, so everything works exactly like you'd expect from
taming a wolf — just spittier, and with cute widdle lizzards.
Install
Requires [BepInEx] and [Jotunn] for Valheim.
- Extract the zip into BepInEx\plugins\ inside your Valheim install (the
plugins\CharmaKameleon\ folder merges straight in).
- Start Valheim through your mod manager of choice.
- Find a wild neck, drop raw meat near it, and stay back while it tames.

Multiplayer & dedicated servers
Every client needs the mod. On a dedicated server, drop the same dll into the
server's BepInEx\plugins\ — breeding is server-authoritative, so the server
must run it too.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file. In multiplayer, the host and every client need the same mods installed.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
