Preloading Splash!
Sick of seeing nothing (or a confusing console) while ULTRAKILL is loading?
No more thanks to PreloadingSplash!11!!11!11!1
Contact @triggeredidiot on discord if the mod crashes your game or otherwise has any other bugs!
Additionally, i haven't tested this mod on platforms other than windows, it could work but it might not.
PluginConfigurator
Preloading splash is pretty configurable via PluginConfigurator, you can configure
- Swap the splash screen out, random splash screens, gif splash screens
- Change the font size (and also the font file but i didn't add a button for that)
- Toggle the visibility of the loading indicators.
- Custom shaders
Custom shaders...?
Basically thanks to Preloading Splash not being connected to unity it supports a custom fragment shader so you can... uh have a cool shader splash screen?
Yeah, not even gonna lie I barely tested this, i setup a bunch of parameters that shadertoy has so have fun trying to port some basic shadertoy shaders i guess.
How?
Because I think its cool im going to explain how the mod works, BepInEx has a feature that lets mods run special code before anything else is loaded, this is technically for patching in advanced code into game files but I use it to spawn a splash screen on a separate thread(via Raylib-CsLo), then I relay BepInEx log messages that have the word "Loading" in and thats basically it. I obviously still needed to make a proper front-end sorta plugin so the config could be customised but its not really that special.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
