About this mod Machine translation
A patch for the model 'Dark Night' made of shadows that makes the transition to/from night completely smooth and seamless. Also works with Friendly Meditation, allowing for seamless transition to or from night while meditating.
what it does
This patch fixes an immersive unencrypted bug in Dark Nights by changing how transitions from Night Shift to Night Shift occur. This bug really bothered me, and the author seems to be no longer active, so I decided to fix it myself.
_With this patch, if and only if any mod's settings change during the transition, darkness will be reintroduced to an intensity calculated based on how far you are into the transition, and blend smoothly throughout the entire duration of the transition and for the remainder of the transition afterwards. This allows you to pause during the transition, change the intensity value and dark start/end time in the menu, and revert to dark with the intensity you would have if you entered the transition with a new value and waited until that point. If you do this in the original mod, the darkness will suddenly change on restoration, even though you didn't change anything, and will suddenly change again at the end of the conversion.
Included in the main file is an optional patch for the mod Frienly Medition, also by wghost8, making the above effects compatible with real-time meditation, i.e. seamless dark transitions when meditating with both mods. If you use Friendly Meditations of Dark Nights, then this optional patch is highly recommended. Without it, when you exit a meditation during a session, the game speed will continue to increase and darkness will suddenly stop mid-meditate.

_ Starting with version 2.0 (full list of changes below), dark settings can be configured individually for each region, or optionally through a single global settings collection. I tried to adjust the settings for each area so that each area's transitions felt as natural as possible (using the Wiedzmin Lighting mod) - these are stored in the "default" presets for each area in the menu.
_Unfortunately, the "dar.ss_on_us.env" variable in the original mod leaves bright red/yellow clouds on the horizon near the sun when darkness is activated above 0 intensity during daylight hours or close to daytime, including before/after sunrise/sunset. If you wish, you can eliminate these effects by adjusting the settings so that darkness ends/starts before or after sunrise/sunset.
NOTE: The .env variable also leaves a very noticeable white light near the horizon when activated at night in Toussaint, so it is now recommended to disable Toussaint's mod (just set the intensity to 0). I've tried to fix this but to no avail, so if you have experience adjusting environment files, any suggestions/fixes are welcome (turning down the alpha of "fxSkyRain" to a ridiculously low amount seems to remove half of the sky, i.e. there is still light in the semicircle that flips around the horizon around midnight...)
_This patch (major and light) removes Dark Nights' dependency on a "custom localization fix" so that names are displayed correctly. If you have no other mods based on the custom localization fix, please uninstall it after installing this fix.
_Translations are welcome (instructions in "modDNNew/localization").

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
