Content introduction:
This is a shader for Witcher 3. I started by trying to restore the sharpening the game had during the demo. I wasn't happy with how the blanket was sharpening everything, so I made it sharpen the center of the screen, like an inverted vignette.
It's similar to how Adobe does it in Photoshop, with extensions similar to SweetFX's LumaSharpen. I actually used some LumaSharpen texture extraction methods to sharpen mine, I will also add the Gaussian sharpening I used in Unreal later.
The nice thing about the way I applied sharpening is that it misses most of the game's main UI, so it's not intrusive.
Shaders can also implement contrast, brightness and saturation. The shader should have some knowledge of the resource and I noticed nothing causing issues during profiling.
