OLFR is a WIP community mod. It's intended to fix the preamp growth resistance of the bizarre vanilla design and set up enemy resistance in a friendly way

OLFR is a WIP community mod. You may ask "Wat de fug you mean community mod?". The answer is simple - the community will decide what kind of resistance there should be. And no, don't think the "make the puppet weak enough to force (Aard) 200% because the power is with you" argument will work.

This mod is intended to be used with the latest beta version of W3EE by Reaperrz (seriously why wouldn't you), and will probably be stable when it is complete.

I'll provide a version for vanilla later. I will balance the base game first, then HoS enemies, and finally BaW.

So basically if you have any good ideas with real arguments, either friendly or logical - feel free to post them in the comments and I'll review them and give them compliments.

Can't stress enough that it should - I need your help and feedback.

A good example: "Werewolves among animals are weak to Igni, but their vanilla resistance to fire and burning damage is 0%, and their burning resistance is 25%, which doesn't make any sense." etc.

For "general" resistances to physics, slash, pierce, blunt, tear, elemental - for the first iteration they will all be the same (will still follow

gradient system). Therefore, they will be adapted later (like golems being stone fortresses, they should be hard to protect from cuts, punctures and tears, while being vulnerable to blows, etc.).

Some rules of thumb:

  • Bleeding and anti-toxicity will reduce overall body/skin strength. So in other words, it depends on what is called "general" resistance, if an enemy has 25% general resistance, that means its body and skin are also 25% harder to cut. Ofc there are some edge cases where the enemy simply doesn't

Blood, etc.

  • Hemorrhage and poison damage resistance depend on natural regeneration, but hemorrhage damage resistance goes up for more "regenerative" enemies - it goes down for others. A faster metabolism means toxins circulate faster (causing more damage).

Resistance to burning depends on many factors. It's an honest weighting system. So if the enemy has a lot of shit, you can burn its -50% resistance (like wolf's fur, bear, something to burn -25% (katakan has hair, griffin has feathers, etc.), on the other hand resistance depends on the strength of the body so wyvern has 75% resistance, forktail 50% and nekker 25%. Something else that should be considered - water, a lot of water covering the enemy means +50% resistance, a little water +25%.

  • Burning damage and fire resistance are negatively affected by armor. The more armor an enemy has - the more fire damage it takes (like boiling in a jar). Although positively affected by water or ice.

In most cases, frost resistance is controversial.

  • Impact resistance depends on 4 factors. Water - a little water - 25%, a lot of water - 50%. Size - from 0% to +50%, medium size +25%. Solids content - from 0% to -50%, with -25% in between. Armor - 25% for light and medium, -50% for weight.
  • Strength depends on overall weight and size, starting from 0 for small creatures to 100% for large creatures.
  • Will is tricky.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
