About this mod Machine translation

A ReShade preset that makes the world look like it was hand-drawn. Looks very much like the distant painting, but closer with detail and definition.

The purpose of this preset is to make The Witcher 3 look as if it was hand-drawn, yet fully playable. The camera effects are increasingly strong, with minimal effects in close-up and cut scenes.

The Fx used for preset work is;

Paint, obviously the main component, is used in moderation to not make the game blurry and unplayable.

Embossing, helps add detail while still staying with the paint, helping to counteract the smudge effect of the paint.

HDR, which helps add definition to the painting effect.

DPX, slightly changing the color scheme.

Film grain, very small amount.

With this preset I set all the video options to Ultra except Texture Detail which I set to Medium, there's no reason to waste processing power when the effect is basically painting or smearing textures. I also highly recommend turning off sharpening in the game, it really takes away from the paint effect.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
