About this mod Machine translation
This is how I imagine the game will be presented at this year's E3. I took inspiration from E3 2014, took some liberties of my own, and the art style from The Witcher 2 to end up with this. Hope you like it!
Before installing, please uninstall other RESHADES by deleting all D3D11, D3D11.DLL, DXGI and DXGI.DLL files and the Reshade-Shaders folder in your EXECUTABLE folder.
I've had several people tell me that the retweet failed. If this happens to you, download the latest version of reshade here and follow the instructions.
Additionally, SUPER TURBO LIGHTING MOD or WIEDZMIN LIGHTING MOD are required for this MOD! If you use this version of the safe version, Wiedzmin Lighting 7.6 is required for TOUSSAINT
Explicit lighting (as shown in the Wiedzmin video) can be downloaded using this mod. Just drag and drop everything in the zip into the main Witcher 3 directory.
- Manually download the "E3 2017 All in One" file.
- (Optional) Unzip the zip folder. It's optional because you really don't need it, but some people like to extract their files.
- Double-click the Reshade setup 3.0.6 file in the zip folder. (This will open the forwarding software)
- Click the "Choose Game" button in the middle and find your Witcher 3 exe (find the folder where you installed the game, then open the Bin folder, then open the x64 folder and finally double-click the Witcher 3 exe).
- Next, it will take you back to the conversion window and click on Direct 3d 10+.
- Click "Yes" when it asks you if you want to install the shader, then click "OK" when the window pops up with all the checkboxes shown, then close the repartition window.
- Very important!!!!!! Go back to your Witcher 3 exe folder and delete d3d11 (and d3d11.dll if you have a previous reshade) and rename dxgi and dxgi.dll to d3d11 and d3d11.dll respectively. Then delete the Reshade-shaders folder (this mod uses different effects imported from reshade 2.xx, so it's important that you do this)
Note: I've been told that some people don't have the d3d11 files in their game folders. For all I know, CDPR may have removed them in a previous update. If they are not there then don't worry and feel free to skip step 7. If you do have the d3d11 files then delete them and rename the dxgi file to d3d11 because if you don't they will conflict with each other. Thanks for any confusion, thanks sorry
- Go back to the mod zip folder, copy and paste all files (including the reshade-shaders folder, but not the Reshade settings) into the folder where the Witcher 3 exe is located.
- Open The Witcher 3, you should notice a message at the top that your game should be a little slow for a few seconds (if this happens then you can praise the sun because you are doing it right)
- You may see instant changes, but if you don't, press Shift + F2 (latest versions of Reshade use the Home key), which will open the repartition menu. You will see a red bar at the top of the menu, now click on the right section where you can type and enter a random type, press Enter, then click on the drop down bar and select the version you want. This should trigger the reshape to take effect.
- Adjust gamma to your liking.
If you think "this doesn't look right", press Shift + F2 and check if all these effects are checked: HDR, Cross, Technicolor, HighPassSharp (sharpened version only) and LunaSharp (sharpened version only), the Toussaint version has almost the same effect and adds a tonal effect, but removes the Technicolor and HDR effects.
If you are missing the "crossover" effect, then you installed it wrong. Cross is an effect, not the default Reshade 3.xx, but imported from reshade 2.xx so please reinstall, be sure to pay close attention to step 7. Thanks!
Install Toussaint if you already have the base mod installed
All you have to do is manually install the "Toussaint only" file and copy and paste the Toussaint.dll file into the Witcher 3 executable folder. Again, there is only the Toussaint.dll file, you don't …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
