Slow motion combat - required via key opening - for W3EE mod.

You can choose the slow motion level in the options.

COMBAT FOCUS - Slow motion combat minimal - Opening via key required - For W3EE mod (old layout).

You can choose slow motion slump rate.

You can turn it on/off with the key.

When on - it slows down the game but drains your vitality with every combat action.

New Stat Introduced: Combat Focus, depends on some subset of existing skills and dodges speed and adrenaline (and cat potion - todo)

Larger difference between slow motion level and combat focus attributes - greater vitality drain.

It has a "difficulty" slider - so you can turn the effect up/down, or even off.

Slow motion helps you tremendously in combat, it's easier to parry, counterattack, etc., and generally you have more control over the combat, and combat is less chaotic

It can also provide you with an excellent visual experience.

It helps you learn and train for combat, study it in a rational and orderly manner, study and understand your opponent's behavior, introduce new combinations, etc.

It allows and encourages you to engage in "clean combat" - without causing a single damage.

This is really interesting.

See below for details.

Notice:

This mini-mod will disable and replace ImmerseCam's standard slow motion functionality.

Other ImmerseCam features are unaffected and remain the same as the standard version.

So this mini-mod will overwrite the modW3EE directory (1 file overwritten, 2 new files). and patch ImmerseCam.xml.

All credits go to the W3EE team and Immerse Camera team. I'm not alone. Just made some quick changes.

You can consider this mini-mod as a Beta or a PoC (Proof of Concept). Or a pilot. Or whatever you like.

Require:

  • Install W3EE - Install W3EE

ImmersiveCam mod and ImmersiveCam patch

compatibility##

I will use a version number that is compatible with the W3EE version.

I only modified one W3EE script file (immersiveCamConfig.ws), so if this file doesn't change in future W3EE versions - that means it's compatible.

Similar to the "bin" files changed by the mod (see installation instructions, 2 files: ImmCamMenu.xml and input.xml), compare them, if the new W3EE version does not change these files - it is compatible.

Or apply the patch like a manual change, it's very simple.

Showtime:

During White Orchard, my Combat Focus stats without adrenaline are 11%, slow motion is 75%, and the difficulty slider is the default 0.3

While it doesn't look slow, it is, and it allowed me to kill those two bastards (spawn) ('sword1h', 2)) without getting hit.

In the next video below I try to do this without slowing down and it compiles to the 3 best fights I always get hit with.

Slowing down really helps, especially on the counter and in the general "combat direction".

Details #####

Combat Focus STAT ##:

Depends on skill:

Defense tree (14 skill points)

Combat Trance Tree (20 skill points)

Bonus: (5 skill points): Cat School, King of Rage, Adrenaline Blast, Focus, Battle Frenzy

"Wizard" skill (1 skill point): Always active, you are a wizard, aren't you?

So the combat stat base calculation is: how many skill points you have / 40.

So: after the game starts, Geralt has 1 skill point active ("Witcher") so your stats are 2.5%

After you activate the starting defense and conversion points given to you by the W3EE developers, you have Combat Focus = 7.5%

Combat focus is then multiplied by your dodge speed. Logically, the quicker you defend, the more targeted you are.

So - light armor is encouraged!

Then add in the Adrenaline Bonus, which ranges between 5% - 30%, see the "Adrenaline Bonus" chart in the picture.

It has logarithmic growth, f(x)=4%+(6.2*ln(adrenaline+e/2))/100.0;. :-D So - ADRENALINE is very important, the first point gives you +5% bonus. 10 points of adrenaline give …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
