Overview
This "mod" enables mod authors to effortlessly import and export raw FBX files into and out of the game. Always use the latest version of Blender! For a long time, Witcher imitators have been plagued by problems with FBX files. In fact, it's not a problem with Blender, but the bug lies in the way TW3 reads the root bone; regardless of its name, the first skeleton in the hierarchy is always the root bone. I found a solution by finding a forum post from a user struggling with Blender and Unity in 2015. Blender would add a root bone by default on export, which would break the mesh in the game. My export script fix prevented Blender from adding this extra root bone. If you don't know what this means, don't worry! It doesn't matter.
This saves hours of conversions and headaches compared to the old method detailed by Marvel Master (still bless him for finding a workaround). Previous mod authors were forced to use third-party software like AutoDesk FBX Converter or Microsoft Visual Studio, which converted between DAEs on every import and export, resulting in cluttered meshes. Mod author KoalaNalle encouraged me to upload this fix using his Blender 2.76 patch. Koala's version uses a relatively new known (his version is the first patch uploaded) patch to fix the import functionality of Blender 2.76. Importing patches helps Blender create skeletons and bones correctly. I borrowed the same line fixes from this patch for my version, so was considering modding Discord with Koala and TW3 to help me with this.
Blender 2.8 is a major milestone and in my opinion far superior to Blender 2.79b or other earlier versions. Frankly it should be called Blender 3.0. While it's still in beta, it's fairly stable and I've only encountered certain crashes when painting on 3D textures.
While the modding scene has obviously been pretty quiet, I hope this inspires some of you to upload your own mods and increase the diversity of mods available here.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
