About this mod Machine translation

This is a simple mod that allows to reduce or increase their textures high or low, or mip-map them in the game's graphics settings.

This is a simple mod that allows to reduce or increase their texture sharpening, or mip map bias in the game's graphics settings. This is different from post-process sharpening, as this actually affects the texture itself.

At one point, CDPR changed the default setting for this in a patch. Made some textures flicker too much.

Another mod was uploaded which is almost the same thing but it is designed for older versions of the game. Since then, CDPR has updated the game with several new settings, so I thought I'd keep it up to date, at least for version 1.11.

I think the game looks better when this setting isn't too high.

(Note that when you change the game settings and enter the menu again with the game settings display set to "Low," the setting actually saves. It just displays the wrong value.)

Installation instructions:

  • Back up rendering.xml in

(witcher 3 wild hunt\bin\config\r4game\user\u config\u matrix\pc)

  • Place the rendering.xml you just downloaded inside (witcher 3 wild hunt\bin\config\r4game\user\u config\u matrix\pc)

You can find this setting under Texture Quality in Graphics Options.

I like the low or 0.2 setting.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
