.FISH Framework 0.1
Framework used by other mods to easily add custom fish to the game
Cute little fish!
Subnautica is filled with gorgeous and terrifying wildlife for your eyes to feast on.
But now, you can easily add your own modders! No more lengthy, boring scripts to set up your objects, just define your creature properties, and BAM! It's ready.
for modifiers
You must add a reference to FishFramework.dll in the mod to use it. Creating a custom fish is as easy as pie. All you need is an asset package containing the 3D model (it must be configured as a prefab in the editor). You can then create an instance of the CustomFish class, define all properties, and use its Register method to apply the fish to the game! Currently, fish spawning or attacks cannot be configured in this mod. Basically, the spawning logic gives every regular fish in the base game a 10% chance of spawning a randomly modified fish, and their behavior simply involves random swimming.
Things I might improve
At some point I may come up with creature traits like aggression and curiosity, and also allow for custom spawning parameters (like biome, depth, etc.)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
