Update history/Update history:

September 13, 2026 10:40:00 Update1.5: Added the function of automatically managing asset files. Now the program can automatically identify the ogg music files under the mod path and automatically synchronize the asset files. In short, you can now freely delete the music you do not want to listen to!!!

May 6, 2024 22:45:00 Update1.4: Removed the judgment of the game version in the descriptor.mod and ugc_mysoundtrack.mod files. Unexpectedly, Stars has reached version 4.0 hahaha, there are too many changes...

November 27, 2024 20:56:00 Update1.3: Added exception handling for AudioTrans.ini configuration errors (it takes 5 minutes to change the code and half an hour to configure the environment. OLED is really not suitable for reading code...)

July 27, 2024 22:48:00 Update1.2: Fixed the launcher warning that the MOD is only available in another version of the game

July 15, 2024 23:28:00 Update1.1: Removed the Python configuration chapter. Theoretically - onefile compiled does not require a running environment. If needed...

July 14, 2024 16:50:00 Update1.0: First version. Suddenly I felt empty again. I remembered that I had been obsessed with the stars recently and had been tinkering with the BGM package for a while. I thought it would be good to write a tutorial. Lazy is the primary productivity. I used to use CMD to type commands and then edit asset files. Finally one day, I couldn't stand it anymore and completed the automation by messing around with the code...

Main function/Main function:

  • Call ffmpeg to convert all mp3 and flac files in the directory to ogg
  • Automatically write the assets file of Qunxing BGM
  • After configuration, execute the program to complete the one-click addition without additional operations.

Serious tutorial part

1. Preliminary preparation-depending on software installation

In order to play with the BGM of Qunxing, please prepare the following software in advance:

①FFmpeg:

Introduction: FFmpeg, the full name of Fast Forward Moving Picture Experts Group, was born in 2000. It is a free, open source audio and video codec tool and development kit.

Download address:

Brief steps:

  • Enter the download page, select ffmpeg-master-latest-win64-gpl.zip for Windows
  • Decompress the compressed package to a local path (what? I don’t know what decompression is, hahaha). Remember this path. There should be ffmpeg.exe under the path.
  • Okay, now the invincible FFmpeg is ready

②~~Python3:~~** (No need to configure Python3, the compiled PY does not require a running environment)**

---

2. MOD initialization

Find the MOD folder of Stellaris, usually C:\Users\\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod. Unzip this MOD template to this path, including the MySoundTrack folder and the ugc_mysoundtrack.mod file.

Use any text editor to open the ugc_mysoundtrack.mod file and replace the path and picture paths with the actual username on your own computer.

If you don’t know what it is, just click on the address bar of the resource manager and you’ll know. It’s where the code is.

Remark:

No matter how the picture path is set, the thumbnail cannot be displayed in the launcher. I will not study it anymore. It does not affect the use.

(Updated on May 6, supported_version matches all!!!)

supported_version is used to tell the laun …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
