This is the Japanese translated version of the **Canon-Friendly Dialogue Expansion** module! This allows Japanese players to enjoy richer character dialogue content.
🔧 Installation method
New version installation
- Place the `ja.json` file in the `Stardew Valley\Mods\[CP] Canon Friendly Dialogue\i18n` directory
- For detailed instructions, please refer to the bundled readme file.
Old version installation (update has stopped)
- Download the original MOD from the original MOD page
- Download and extract this Japanese translation MOD to the Stardew Valley/mods folder
- When a new confirmation dialogue appears in the game, the installation is successful.

⚠️ Notes
Compatibility with other MODs
If a dialogue addition mod or a translation improvement mod other than CDE is installed, CDE's character dialogue may not appear. Please change the dialog setting from true to random in the GMC menu settings.
Translation features
Although it is an official translation, since the original text has large changes in personal pronoun and tone, we chose an expression that fits the character's personality.
Special instructions for old versions
In the old version of the MiscDialogue.json file, a common dialogue is included when the player has a child with his spouse. In order not to limit the tone of voice when translating into Japanese, plain writing is used. If you feel uncomfortable, please delete the corresponding line.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
