Ladder Chance Framework
🎮 **A powerful ladder generation probability control framework**
✨ Module Introduction
This is a framework mod and does not directly change the game itself. It provides a powerful system that allows other mods to adjust the spawn probability of ladders and shafts in mines and skull caves under various conditions.
📦 Optional content packs
In the optional files you can find a customizable multi-purpose package that uses the ladder probabilistic framework and provides multiple configuration options:
- 🔧 **Probability multiplier setting**: Set the ladder generation probability multiplier for the mine and the skull cave respectively.
- 🌀 **Special Room Guarantee**: Guaranteed spawning of a ladder at the end of a spiral or snake room
- ⛏️ **Challenge Mode**: Players are required to break all stones before a ladder will be generated
- 🐉 **Monster Killing Bonus**: After completing the 100th floor mission of the Skeleton Cave, the probability of killing monsters to generate a ladder will be increased.
- 🗑️ **Empty Floor Guarantee**: Guaranteed to spawn ladders on almost empty floors and no ladders have been spawned yet
- 💎 **Jade Node Bonus**: Increase the probability of generating ladders from jade nodes
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE
This framework mod requires other content packs or mods to function. Installing the main file alone will have no impact on your game.

❓ FAQ
How do multiple probability modifications interact?
When multiple mods modify ladder/shaft spawn probability at the same time, LCF will intelligently coordinate as expected. For example:
- Module A: Using a basic pickaxe to destroy any stone has a 20% chance of generating a ladder.
- Module B: Destroying diamond nodes has a 90% chance of generating a ladder.
- Module C: Destroying any stone in the center of the spiral floor has a 100% chance of generating a ladder.
If you destroy the diamond node with a basic pickaxe in the center of the spiral floor, the ladder spawn probability will be 100%, because "always" means always active!
Is it possible to generate multiple ladders or shafts?
In the original Stardew Valley:
- Only one ladder can be obtained from stone
- Multiple ladders can be obtained from enemies
- Multiple shafts can be obtained from stones or enemies
- Shafts do not prevent ladders from spawning
Mods using LCF can change this logic.
Mod Compatibility
LCF specifically interacts with code that runs when a player (or other entity) breaks stone or kills a monster in a mine or skull cave. The focus of LCF is on the *probabilities* used by the game, not the actual creation of the ladder.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
