Dynamically change the name of the "stone statue" monster in the game to another term

Dynamic stone statue renaming

✨ **Dynamic Stone Rename** (or Refactor if you prefer to call it) is a simple mod that changes the monsters named "stone" in the game to a different term. You can have them all use the same name, or mix and match different terms. It also supports the function of adding custom terms!

---

🏺Backstory

The stone statue originates from a part of Jewish folklore. They are creatures made of clay or earth and were designed to provide protection to the Jewish community.

In modern culture, the term is used to describe any vaguely humanoid creature created by a magic user.

I personally think we have enough terminology to describe artificial creatures, and that term doesn't quite fit the monsters in Stardew Valley. They just seem to spawn infinitely, without any clue as to who/what creature created them for a specific purpose - and that's the core concept of the stone statues. They could very well be called "creatures", and that's exactly what this mod does.

🎯 Core Functions

Allows you to independently change the name terms of 3 types of monsters:

  • Stone statue
  • Wilderness Stone Statue
  • Iridium statue

💡 *I know that last one is just a variant of the Wilderness Golem, but let me have some fun with it! *

This mod only edits the **display names** of these monsters and does not modify anything else.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
